A little over a half a mile walk will bring you to the West Highlands neighborhood. Here, some good places to check out are Cafe Zuri for a quick coffee/breakfast, Blue Pan Pizza, Sweet Cow Ice Cream, Tacos Tequila Whiskey, and El Camino Community Tavern for a good taco Tuesday deal.

This is definitely a "younger area" of Denver but is filled with some great restaurants. The Root Down is excellent for any meal, Linger is a lot of fun if the weather cooperates for a rooftop table, and Avanti is a great option when you're feeling indecisive as they have a rotating selection of food stalls.

A very trendy area, definitely check out the Street art while you're there. Lots of great breweries (and a wineries) to choose from. Improper City and Ironton have great outdoor spaces. Los Chigones and Denver Central Market are great places to check out for a meal.

You can't beat this place for convenience. Added bonus, the coffee really is good, the pastries have never let me down, and they usually have Berkley Donuts on Saturdays which saves you from waiting in line at the actual store.

Another convenient spot, just a block away with some of the best bagels in Denver (it's not a tough competition here, but coming from NY, these really are pretty good). They're really busy so make sure you order before heading over. The wait can be anywhere from 20min-1hr

If you take a left out of the driveway and head down less than half a mile towards Sheridan you can grab a great biscuit sandwich. If you order before you leave it'll probably be ready by the time you arrive.

A short but steep 3mi hike with a big payoff. If you’re a morning person, or want to pretend for a day, this is a great sunrise hike. Give yourself at least 2hrs to drive out and hike up. Don’t forget your thermos of coffee and some warm layers for watching the sunrise! As with all hikes, make sure you check the conditions. Traction may be needed well into June.

A great hike if you're feeling up for a 7mi high altitude adventure. Bring lots of water as it's fully exposed, lots of layers as it will be much cooler and windier than Denver, and be sure to check the conditions. The snow sticks around into July up here. Depending on the day you may need snowshoes or traction.
