Utah State Liquor and Wine Stores
Hard alcohol, wine, and strong beer (>5% alcohol by volume) cannot be sold in regular grocery stores in Utah. These liquor stores are state-run, and are the only place to purchase the aforementioned items. Search "DABC" in Google to find a comprehensive list. But I've made a few notes about the nearby locations as they all are a little different. ALL ARE CLOSED ON SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS.
With a huge selection and knowledgeable sales people, this is the place if you're looking for good wine. Closes at 7.

Breweries
The craft beer scene in SLC has absolutely exploded in recent years. All the places listed have great beer, and are usually associated with some kind of food option, be it an attached restaurant or rotating nightly food truck. MOREOVER, all of these also sell take-away bottles and cans straight from their coolers 7 days a week. i.e., if you want full strength beer on a Sunday, these are your only options.
Home to our favorite double IPA of all time: Ferda. Also a great place to hang, inside and out. Usually has food truck.
