Chic cocktail bar atop the EAST Miami hotel featuring craft drinks & a tropical rooftop deck.
Set in Miami Beach's hipster-cool, art deco Freehand Hostel, this small, romantic bar boasts an alter-ego backyard that's massive, offbeat and well equipped with a pool, Ping-Pong table and mismatched furniture. And the bartenders take their drinks seriously too, mixing handcrafted cocktails with handmade infusions and syrups created with herbs found in the property's own private garden.

“As awesome as it is creative”, this “jumping”, upscale Midtown resto-lounge from the SushiSamba team draws “young, hip” types for its “always-stellar” Eclectic small plates, plus sushi and robata-grill items and “exceptional rum menu”; while tabs “can get pricey”, the “breathtaking” islandy interior and “pleasant respite” of an outdoor patio should place this “go-to” spot on “everyone's short list.”

SuViche is a great place to start off the night, with a buzzing open-sided setting of garrulous couples chatting over swinging chairs, graffiti-esque murals and good beats. The menu is a blend of Peruvian dishes (including half a dozen varieties of ceviche) and sushi, which goes down nicely with the creative macerados (pisco-infused cocktails). Visit the website for other locations, including South Beach and Brickell.

Mandolin Aegean Bistro in the Design District is a great spot with really good food and one of the best patios around. The menu is a mix of Turkish and Greek dishes with some of the produce coming straight from the on-site garden that you’ll eat next to. Order the Turkish sampler with hummus, tomato, and eggplant, and a spicy lamb kebab to share, along with some sangria. Mandolin definitely fills up quick though, so do your best to call ahead if you can.

Miami is replete with waterfront dining options, but these can often be a bit out of price range. For a more affordable option that still delivers a romantic ambiance and delectable cuisine, we recommend Crazy About You. This Brickell-based restaurant and lounge offers and array of international cuisine that's sure to please every palate. Craving Mexican? Try the ox-tail tacos with chipotle mayo. Or if you're feeling Italian, start your dinner with the burrata caprese (with zucchini carpaccio) and then move on to the firecracker rigatoni or the faux risotto. But maybe your date is craving some all-American dining. They'll be pleased with the bbq baby back ribs and the kale salad with gulf shrimp. With every entree including an appetizer of your choice and glasses of house wine priced at just $5 (bottles for $15), you'll surely be as crazy about them at Crazy About You.

Located in Kimpton's Epic Hotel, this restaurant's setting affords skyline views of both Miami (to the north and west) and Biscayne Bay (to the east and south) that guests find truly breathtaking--that is, if they aren't too focused on the incredible cuisine. Executive Chef Wolfgang Birk gleans most of his seafare--items such as jumbo lump crab salad with spicy seared watermelon, heirloom tomato, avocado, mint and basil or yellowfin tuna with mixed grains, smoked black beans, shrimp guacamole and ginger juice--either locally or from the region of the ocean for which the restaurant is named, Area 31, one of the only self-sustaining spots that is said to be left in the ocean. Meat and pasta dishes are just as delicious and contain sustainable items from nearby farms and other trusted sources. So not only should you leave you leave your diet at home, but drop your guilt behind, too.

This Miami River hot spot features executive chef Angel León (ex Sugarcane) helming a high-end, globally inspired seafood menu that spans a raw bar and a range of upmarket dishes. The stunning space offers city and water views, and in the adjacent lounge (called Modern Garden), raw fish crudo is paired with meats cooked on 850-degree volcanic stone slabs.

Kyu has been dazzling locals and food critics alike with its creative Asian-inspired dishes, most of which are cooked over the open flames of a wood-fired grill. Try the Florida red snapper, beef tenderloin and a magnificent head of cauliflower. There's also grilled octopus, soft-shell-crab steamed buns and smoked beef brisket. Book well ahead, or turn up and wait (one-hour average). The bar is the go-to spot for creative cocktails (with drink and food specials during happy hour).

More than the fare itself, it’s the panoramic skyline views – among the best in Miami – that draw the faithful and romantic to this restaurant. But if you come for a sunset drink, the fresh air could certainly seduce you into staying for some of the surf ‘n’ turf menu, which is packed with high-end grilled steaks and seafood. HAPPY HOUR MONDAY - FRIDAY FROM 4-7PM. AVAILABLE IN THE LOUNGE ONLY

BRAZILIAN: "If you want to know what Brazilian drinking culture is about, stop on by. Especially during a soccer, er, futebol game." BEST FOR BRAZILIAN BECAUSE: While many prefer going to an upscale rodizio joint, if you want a truly authentic Brazilian food AND culture experience, it's Boteco all the way.

The Bar Lab team (The Broken Shaker) and chef Alex Chang (The Vagabond) bring this Upper Eastside watering hole to the former Magnum Lounge space, showcasing updated takes on old-fashioned cocktails, including savory options, plus food that's decidedly drink-friendly. The room pays tribute to its '80s past with a jukebox, red leather booths and animal-print wallpaper, contrasted by a Caribbean-inspired patio out back.

Alfredo Patino, owner of neighboring Tap 79 and Edgewater's Bin No. 18, takes on taco territory at this MiMo District spot, offering traditional (Cali fish) and atypical (bahn mi) variations, plus quesadillas, churros and salads, all washed down with beer, sangria and aguas frescas. The casual digs are decked out with a hodgepodge of kitschy items, from sombreros to bullfighter paintings, but the real kick is the bocce court outdoors.

Phuc Yea started as a pop up and went wildly popular with its delicious Cajun-Vietnamese cooking. The name got about as much attention – but 'phuc', says Urban Dictionary, stands for 'blessing and prosperity.' Get yourself some lobster summer rolls, the excellent fish curry, octopus with lime and sweet chili, spicy chicken wings and other great sharing plates. The venue is industrial with graffiti, soft lighting and loud hip-hop (sometimes too loud). The raw bar in front doles out sushi, fresh oysters and creative cocktails (happy hour from 5pm to 7pm). There's also outdoor dining in a paper-lantern-filled garden.

The food here is good. You can go and get sushi and other food items this good at 2am. Price point isn't bad. The sushi rolls are humongous. Definitely go to late night spot in Miami
