I get my nails done here. 2 blocks from 1910 House. Expect to be ignored when you walk in... they don’t know a proper greeting. Busy so best to make an appointment. If you must get your nails done while visiting this is probably the best place.

Sightseeing
Like a Castle on a Mountain. Stunning views on a lake and an old Victorian castle. Make a reservation for a meal and stay for the day. They have a good spa also. Very expensive to stay overnight and there is a fee to enter the grounds - if they will even let you in... depends upon how crowded they are. Good hiking.

This is where 1910 House is!
Uptown Kingston
Known as the Stockade District, is an eight-block section of the city — first settled by the Dutch in 1658 — It is crammed full of historic buildings. A few highlights: the Senate House (built in 1676), where the senators of the newly formed State of New York held their first meeting in 1777; the Minard Lafever-designed Old Dutch Church (1852), a National Historic Landmark; and the junction of Crown and John streets, the only intersection in the country that has an early Dutch stone house on each of its four corners. The Friends of Historic Kingston offer guided walking tours of the district on the first Saturday of every month from May through October.

Stunning Federal style clapboard house-built circa 1812 as the residence for John Sudam (1782-1835), a prominent
attorney, New York State Senator and Regent. In the 1880s, it was sold to the Van Leuven family, whose
descendants decided in 1938 to sell the house for commercial use. Fred J. Johnston, a local antiques dealer
was able to purchase the house, and save the site from becoming a gas station. He devoted the remainder of his life to restoring the property and preserving the Federal style exterior details.
