“Archaeology site in Akrotiri. The prehistoric settlement of Akrotiri on the island is one of the most important sites in the Aegean. In prehistory it was a well connected Minoan port town, with connections to mainland Greece and as far afield as Egypt and Syria.”

History Museum
“ One of the most important museums of Greece is the spectacular Museum of Prehistoric Thera that lies in the capital of Santorini, Fira. It is housed in a state-of-the-art, two-story building whose erection started in the beginning of the 1970s and it was finally offered to the public in 2000. The finds that are on display on the Prehistoric Museum of Thera come from the various excavations that were carried out on the island, such as at the settlements of Akrotiri and Potamos, rescue excavations at different sites on the island as well as some objects that were discovered by chance or handed over.”

Nature
“Unbelievable! You can access the red beach if you continue to follow the road south of the archaeological town of akrotiri. However be cautious i recommend photographs are taken without entering the beach on foot as there are sudden landslides. You can access by boat simply purchase tickets by a local ticket booth at fira or the port. After passing the church you can walk far enough to take photographs without crossing into it.”

Place to eat
“The location of this winery is amazing...it is on the highest part of the caldera, so you get an incredible view of the whole island. Also, you can taste amazing wines and local delicacies like cheese, tomato paste, olives and crispbreads. Tip: Go there for wine testing and sunset watching, and you will have a unique experience away from the crowds of tourists.”

Museum
“ An extraordinary and very interesting museum lies in the center of Fira, the capital of Santorini, very close to the cable car. The Archaeological Museum of Thera is a very educational small gem that offers an insight into the island’s past and proves how sophisticated the civilizations that preceded us were. The Archaeological Museum is a great place for those who are interested in other cultures and wish to become acquainted with the history of Santorini. There are three main collections on display ‒ sculpture from the Archaic to the Roman Period, inscriptions dating from the Archaic to the Roman Period as well as vases and clay figurines from the Geometric to the Hellenistic Periods.”

“Katharos Lounge Vegan Meze Restaurant is situated just outside of Oia (on the road to Amoudi bay), this hidden gem is nestled away on the cliff side in solitude, with the most fantastic views of the sunset. A beautiful location with yummy vegan recipes for either lunch of dinner, stopping by for lunch is great but even better I recommend making a reservation for sunset! It has a very relaxing and chilled vibe, and plays great tunes to add to the mood. The staff is absolutely wonderful too! The food is vegan Meze style (Greek tapas), don’t miss the Strawberry salad and the Phyllo rolls filled with sweet potato, caramelised onion, spinach and vegan cheese, simply amazing! Don’t miss their tasty and unique cocktails too or try the famous unfiltered hoppy beer from a local brewery ‘Yellow Donkey’, ‘Red Donkey’, or ‘Crazy Donkey’. If you visit for lunch, definitely head down to the beach located just below for a swim and some sunbathing! ”

“Krinaki is set in a converted 19th-century winery at Finikia, a small farming hamlet near Oia. Krinaki has used the fruits of traditional agriculture like wild greens in salads, capers buds and leaves, coquettes in pies, white aubergines, hand-crushed fava, cherry tomatoes, tomato paste, sun-dried tomatoes, barley rusks baked in a wood-burning oven, and wines from select Assyrtiko, Mavrotragano, Athiri, Mandilaria, and Aidani varietals that have grown on Santorini since antiquity. The restaurant’s philosophy is to highlight simple flavors and transform them into powerful dishes. The emphasis is on quality and each diner poses a separate challenge whose comments are welcome. ”
