“Emblematic building of the Latin quarter, the Pantheon is not only the last residence of France's great names - Voltaire, Victor Hugo, Jean Moulin, Simone Veil and other history makers are resting in peace here - this is also a very impressive piece of art to walk through. If you look up, you'll be awed by its 3-dome ceiling, letting a zenithal light coming in to exagerate the majestic view if the main room.”

“Pantheon was originally built as a church dedicated to St. Genevieve and to house the reliquary châsse containing her relics but, after many changes, now functions as a secular mausoleum containing the remains of distinguished French citizens. It is an early example of neoclassicism, with a façade modeled on the Pantheon in Rome, surmounted by a dome that owes some of its character to Bramante's "Tempietto". Located on the Montagne Sainte-Geneviève, the Panthéon looks out over all of Paris. ”

“This is just another amazing historical site with a lot of history. Just to see the fulcrum in the center and its historical significance in addition to all the great minds of France buried just below was an amazing experience to witness. I definitely recommend checking out this place if not only just to see the building itself and nothing else.”

“The Sorbonne’s magnificent library is featured in Martin Scorsese’s film Hugo, which I love for its wonderful homage to the cinema and to the pioneering director Georges Méliès. The gorgeous, vaulted-ceiling reading room is where Hugo discovers that Méliès invented special effects. The library is one of the oldest in Europe and was one of the first buildings to mix metal and stone in the early 19th century. It was quite revolutionary.”
