“The park is massive, lush and scenic. The area is one of the city's oldest neighborhoods. The name came from the fact that they used to grow sugar beets in the region. My grandmother (Chris') won a contest naming the park, Sugar House Park with a $25.00 prize. The Sugar House district is trendy and has a peaceful and laid back feel to it.”

“This Utah state park, located near Hogle Zoo and the mouth of Emigration Canyon, encourages visitors to step back in time and see Utah during its early settlement stages. The experience at this family-friendly attraction is educational, entertaining, and non-denominational. Led by a man named Brigham Young, pioneers arrived in the Great Salt Lake valley on July 24, 1847. Brigham Young, who was suffering from altitude sickness, looked out at the valley from the back of his wagon and declared, "This is the right place. Drive on." The Park's "Heritage Village" represents the pioneers' early settlements in the Utah territory. ”

“This is an easy to moderate hike on the east bench of the city. Can be done in tennis shoes and has awesome views of the city. It can be a bit steep in bits but most should be able to do it without a problem. ”

“Tanner Park is not an official dog park, but leashed dogs are allowed on the park's many trails. The park goes down in a gully and at the bottom there is a bridge where many folks let their dogs off leash to play in the creek. The current is strong, so please use caution. This is not a typical fenced dog park, but more like hiking in the wilderness. There are no bathrooms or watering areas. There are a number of bag and waste stations. Please be aware that the hike back up and out is quite steep and the road is dirt and rock. ”

“The Bonneville Shoreline hiking trail winds around Salt Lake's foothills, and there are many starting and stopping points. Ask any local their favorite trailhead - some are pet or biker friendly, most spots have fabulous overlooks, and are appropriate for any age (flat). There are some secret areas that make you feel miles and miles from the city.”

“The 2004–2008 Capitol restoration project dramatically changed the grounds once again. Today, the grounds more closely honor Richard K.A. Kletting’s original plans for the area, and Capitol Hill includes six buildings; sprawling lawns; a central plaza with a reflecting pond; a .7 mile circular walkway boasting 433 yoshino cherry trees; and a broad collection of monuments, plaques, and statuary.”
