“The Bloedel Reserve is a 150-acre forest garden on Bainbridge made by the vice-chairman of a lumber company, under the influence of the conservation movement and Asian philosophy. Internationally-recognized for the inspirational beauty of its refined gardens, natural landscapes, and preserved forests. Open year-round, there’s something new to discover in every season: ever-changing landscapes, guided walks, expert lectures, summer concerts, special seasonal events, and more.”

Forest
“If you're looking for a long stroll in a classic PNW forest, this is the place. It's deep, dark, dramatic & lovely. Many of the trees are old growth, which means they're massive and awesome examples of the trees that built the west coast. There's two sections to the forest, accessible from various entry points. I'm happy to describe them in detail if you want to consult. Or just go for it... you can't get lost. And no, there's no lions, tigers or bears.”

“I love this park... it's like Bainbridge's Central Park. It's a two mile long rectangular plot of land with a trail that's great for running and walking. There's an amazing playground, ball fields, a beautiful pond and even an observatory. Recently, they added Frisbee baseball nets if you play that sport. It's a great place to go to get out of the woods and get some light. ”

“Going for a walk, hike, run, or bike ride through the Grand Forest is restorative. No matter the season, rain, snow, or shine. Head to the Hilltop to soak in the sky and Olympic Mountain views (on a clear day). ”

“Head out on more than 60 miles of off-road trail systems either just across the road or at the trailhead less than a mile away. The Heritage Park system is one of many land and water trails to explore while you are visiting the North Kitsap area! It is also one of the many reasons why we love living in the PNW. :) The trails are used by walkers, hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders. ”
