“A world class art gallery -- spanning the globe and historical eras -- set in an early example of one of architecture's great masters, Louis Kahn (see his later masterpiece across the street: the Yale Center for British Art). A newer addition has expanded the experience.”

“We have been here a few times. Sometimes it is quiet, low key and really pleasurable to sit and try the wines and small plates. However other times this place can get packed, crowded and have a very touristy feel. Regardless of the crowds the wait staff are good and are knowledgeable about the wines. The wine is OK (pretty decent for Long Island), and if paired with some delicious appetizers (cheese plates/ charcutterie), it's a great way to spend the afternoon, chatting with family and/or friends and enjoying the beautiful vineyards. In case there are crowds - make sure you make a reservation before you go. ”

“This is one of the oldest and most prolific natural history museums in the world. Founded in 1866 it contains the Great Hall of Dinosaurs, multiple exhibits dedicated to human and mammal evolution, wildlife dioramas, Egyptian artifacts, birds, minerals and Native American displays. There are hands on exhibits for the kids and is located in a beautiful area of New Haven right in the Yale University grounds.”

“Founded in 1925 by Frank Pepe - this local pizzeria is renowned for establishing the "New Haven-style thin-crust apizza" baked in coal-fired ovens topping 800 degrees. Expect long lines with both locals and tourists, but catch it at an off hour and enjoy a real treat.”

“Really good Carribean food with outdoor water seating. This is a smaller restaurant, so plan to arrive early or have a cocktail at the bar till your table is ready. During the season, this is a fun spot for music. The water taxi here takes you across to Cowfish, another fun dinner spot with seasonal outdoor music at the bar. They are 1.2 miles away from the Inn.”

“Great side trip especially on a rainy day. If you are interested in art and art history this is a nice diversion - stop for lunch and shopping in Amagansett or East Hampton afterwards. Be sure to check the hours - as they are limited.”
