“Moors Valley is a fantastic country park and woodland, only five minutes away. There are lots of different trails and walks to explore, including a great play trail if you are here with children. There are two different play areas, bike and Segway hire and Go Ape. It also has a visitors centre with a shop, cafe and toilets close to the car park and lots of space for picnics around the site. There is no cost to entry, however you do need to pay for parking. If you are looking for a day out walking, it is possible to walk or cycle to Moors Valley along the Castleman trail.”

“A beautiful headland with far reaching views across to Bournemouth, back to Mudeford and the Isle of Wight on a clear day. You can do a fantastic looped walk up and over the headland, down onto the beach where the famous beach huts are and then back through the woodland. There is a land train which you can take (kids love) and this lower path is bike and scooter friendly (you cannot bike over the headland as it is a nature reserve). There is a fascinating Visitor Centre and shop where you can find out more information about the history of this area and nature. A cafe and public toilets are situated at the car park and then also down on the beach so it makes for a very family friendly day out! ”

Nature
“Beautiful area and nature reserve with a view of the beach and sea on one side and Christchurch harbour on the other. There are large fields, a walk up the head itself. There is a cafe/restaurant on the spit beach and also another cafe at the car park. The visitor centre has a small garden outside and cameras showing nesting birds (great place to fly a kite - it's always windy!)”

“Only for real treats! Great food and views, great service. You will have to book way in advance for a table here. Also if you like that kind of thing have a walk around the walled kitchen garden. Spendy in the restaurant- Watch the wine bill! In summer they do flatbreads in the garden without bookings, phone ahead to check as they won’t do walk ins otherwise.”
