Cultural Center
“Britain's tallest cathedral spire and largest cathedral close and cloisters. It houses the original 1215 Magna Carta, the best-preserved copy in existence and the 14th century clock is the oldest working mechanical clock in the world. Excellent tours and events.”

“A beautiful headland with far reaching views across to Bournemouth, back to Mudeford and the Isle of Wight on a clear day. You can do a fantastic looped walk up and over the headland, down onto the beach where the famous beach huts are and then back through the woodland. There is a land train which you can take (kids love) and this lower path is bike and scooter friendly (you cannot bike over the headland as it is a nature reserve). There is a fascinating Visitor Centre and shop where you can find out more information about the history of this area and nature. A cafe and public toilets are situated at the car park and then also down on the beach so it makes for a very family friendly day out! ”

Nature
“Beautiful area and nature reserve with a view of the beach and sea on one side and Christchurch harbour on the other. There are large fields, a walk up the head itself. There is a cafe/restaurant on the spit beach and also another cafe at the car park. The visitor centre has a small garden outside and cameras showing nesting birds (great place to fly a kite - it's always windy!)”

“If you love fresh fish we highly recommend a car journey along the coast to Burton Bradstock and this great spot to eat! Queues are likely in peak season but just confirms it’s popular!! Expect fresh mussels, large seafood platters, lobster and some good old fashioned fish and chips to make but a few bites! ”

“Hix Oyster and Fish House in Lyme Regis is always a treat. Wonderful fresh seafood cooked with style and often some locally foraged wild ingredients too, plus a stunning view over the Cobb and out to sea. ”

“The food here is excellent - you can tell they use fresh ingredients and the menu has some interesting choices. It's very stylish - country and unpretentious but comfortable and inviting. It's also worth a visit for the drive through the Fonthill Bishop Estate - beautiful, stretched out well kept paddocks and fields with horses grazing and attractive wooden fences...Very English country! ”
