“The Point St George Lighthouse is only accessible by Coast Guard Helicopter. Information on organized tours of the lighthouse may be obtained from Barbara Burke, who operates the Gallery of Arts and Culture. The cost is $250 and 100% of the cost goes towards renovation and restoration of the lighthouse. The lighthouse is offshore in a rocky and treacherous part of the sea, so a visit to the place is not for the faint of heart.”

“Point St. George is a prominent rocky point about three miles north of Crescent City. The Point is where the St. George Reef Lighthouse keepers lived when they were ashore back when this lighthouse was manned (from 1891 until 1975). In 1995, it was decommissioned and completely abandoned. The historic lighthouse is six miles offshore on the Dragon Rocks northwest of the point, but it is visible in the distance on a clear day (bring binoculars). This lighthouse, which is one of the tallest in California, is under restoration by a non-profit group who intends to provide tours by helicopter.”
