A gorgeous and completely modernised cottage in a seaside village in North Wales. Beautiful 19th Century cottage that is a 2 minute walk to 2 beaches and the harbour. There are cliff top walks, local pubs, and a hot tub overlooking the river below.
Our cottage is a magical place. The stylish living and dining room has a wood burning stove and amazingly comfy sofas. Wait until you walk through to the back and see the view to the valley, the river at the back and the wildflower walk. It's a 19th Century cottage that has a lot of history. There are low ceilings and a quaint wooden staircase. It is fully modernised, so is very comfortable and there are full facilities such as dishwasher, electric shower and downstairs w.c. The kitchen at the back leads to the full spectacular effect of the house. There are opening doors in the kitchen/diner that lead to an upper decking where the hot tub is*. You walk out and can see the whole valley with the wildflower valley and river in all it's glory. Walk down the garden steps and get to a bench to view the beauty. The another set of steps and you're at the bottom and ready to sit on the table and chairs an have cocktails and dinner to the sound of the nesting birds and the river. *Please note that the hot tub may not be warm enough for use until the second day of your stay, as it is an environmentally friendly tub that takes longer to heat
Cemaes, a village on the most northerly shores of Anglesey, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which is partly owned by the National Trust. At the back of the house, the garden looks out over the peaceful Valley of the Otters (‘Nant y Dyfrgi’ in Welsh), which is surrounded by woodland wildflowers (home to the famous ‘Wildflower Walk’). The river itself is called the River Wygyr which flows from just below Parys Mountain to the sea at Cemaes. It is joined along the way by the Afon Meddanen on Carrog Farm. The name Wygyr itself in Welsh means 'where two rivers meet'. The Valley of the Otters is a flood plain. Often during spring tide and/or periods of heavy rain, the river floods and the whole Valley becomes, effectively, a large river. During the right conditions, this can be quite a spectacular sight, which you can experience from the bottom of the garden but don’t worry, the decking is high enough for you to avoid the water (although you will get a much closer view of the ducks)! Cemaes is the most northerly village in Wales and was originally an ancient fishing village. The village includes a sheltered natural harbour that looks north to the Irish Sea and is a site of an ancient settlement that in more recent centuries has become a centre for maritime activities (as well as smuggling and piracy!) Between the end of the 18th and beginning of the 20th century the village was noted for producing salted herring, building ships, and brick construction from a nearby works. The brickworks was served by a narrow gauge tramway down to the sea (you can see the route of the tramline as well as parts of the old line from the garden on the opposite side of the valley). In the garden, see if you can spot the home-grown brick we found buried in the garden! The harbour (less than a minute’s walk from the house) is a characteristic part of the village. At the right times you can see fishermen return with their haul (Cemaes Bay lobster is shipped all over the world). You can do fishing trips from the Harbour and also boat trips to many of the surrounding areas of interest. Cemaes Bay has two sandy beaches – originally named ‘Traeth Mawr’ (Big Beach) and Traeth Bach (Little Beach) which are separated by a natural stone harbour that looks to the Irish Sea. At high tide you’ll hear the tidal bell chime as the waves roll to and from the beach. Around the village you will probably see lots of images of Cemaes in the old days. Large parts of which have not changed much over the last two hundred years. You may also encounter lots of flowers. The local gardening group, Cemaes in Bloom, maintain the village’s floral displays, and in recent years the village has won prizes with both Wales- and Britain-in-Bloom competitions. The village provides a great base to explore all of Anglesey – in particular the coastal path. Whether you head east or west you will find plenty of deserted beaches and desolate cliff tops to explore. Incidentally, if you enjoy photography, the area in and around the village provides some great sights and scenes for you to capture. In the living room you will see photographs of the harbour and a photo Porth Wylfa – a beach that can be found to the west of the village. To the immediate east there is the Porth Padrig beach, dominated by the large quartz rock known as the White Lady and Llanbadrig church – where St Patrick was shipwrecked and subsequently founded a church in 440 AD. Next to the church is a wooden bench where the Dalai Lama sat when he visited the area, declaring it to be ‘the most peaceful place on earth’. Facilities in the village itself: •The Stag: Good beer and excellent pub grub in Wales’ most northerly pub. Plays host to a live music night every few weeks on a Sunday night. •Harbour Inn: Great food and lovely views of the harbour. Dogs welcome as well! •Ye Olde Vigour: Old-fashioned pub full of character and personality. •Heritage Cafe: Tasty food and lots of interesting memorabilia about local history in the attached Heritage Centre •Eleanor Janes Deli and Restaurant: They do a fantastic cooked breakfast! •Woburn Hill Hotel: Bar and restaurant, serving locally caught fish, steak, lamb and farm produce. •Y Wygyr Fish & Chips: Award-winning fish and chips each frequented by people from all over the island. •Shops: On the High Street there are a handful of shops which include a grocery, a driftwood gift shop (next door), a little bakery (opposite), a butchers, a chemist, a hairdressers, a card/gift shop, three craft shops, an art studio and a gallery! If you have children, the craft shop opposite do various children’s workshops (which may keep them entertained for a bit if it rains!)

Pebble Cottage is a cosy, pet-friendly, newly refurbished house in the village of Cemaes Bay. We welcomed our first guests for Christmas 2018. It's a two minute walk from the front door, through the village, or the same distance from the back gate along the wooded river, to the beaches and pretty harbour. A very short walk to a couple of great pubs. Red squirrels live in the trees along the river behind the house. We're hoping to attract them into the garden which borders this river valley. Wifi
Bright, sparkling clean and beautifully furnished and decorated. Colourful and comfortable. Local, original art throughout is a unique feature of the cottage. The kingsized room overlooks the back garden, the wooded valley and the little river. The front double bedroom, which also has a single bed, overlooks the high street and the village hall. There is a smart TV and free WiFi.
Cemaes Bay is a lovely little village with a great community. It has four pubs, a general store, a deli/cafe, a fish and chip shop, a pharmacy, hairdressers and barbers, a gallery, a community run gift shop, a craft workshop, and during the summer a beach side pizza takeaway. It has two main beaches and a little one as well as a pretty harbour. Boat trips and fishing trips leave from the harbour and there's always lots going on. The Anglesey Coastal Path is a few minutes away from the house and the headland walks from the village are stunning!

Ty Gwyn is lovely bright peaceful house a couple of hundred yards from the High St in the seaside village of Cemaes Bay. We're in a small residential estate but only 5 minutes away from the 3 pubs, grocery store, gallery & crafts shops, fish & chips shop, the quaint harbour with its fishing boats and the beautiful beaches. We renovated and freshly furnished the house in 2019 and are looking forward to welcoming guests. We hope you love the house and the village as much as we do!
We've tried to think of everything our guests could need from practical items such as travel cot, stair-gate and high chair, iron and hairdryer to necessities such as lovely fluffy towels and good quality bedding. We love collecting driftwood from the beaches on Anglesey and have made lamps and other items for Ty Gwyn from some of our finds. The three upstairs bedrooms (2 double and 1 single) are all comfortable, colourful and stylish with great quality bedding and accessories. There is a bright, clean bathroom upstairs with bath and shower and a downstairs loo. The dining-kitchen is spacious and very well equipped with a view out over the back garden. The sun sets on this side of the hose so you get some lovely evening light in here to enjoy whilst preparing supper. The sitting room is a delightful bright room with a wonderful log burner to flop down in front of after a long day on the beach. There is also a smart TV and range of interesting coffee table books for you to enjoy.

The Little Piggery is a converted Welsh stone outbuilding, situated within the grounds of a former Sea Captains house, built in 1874. The space is perfect for couples, with its quirky layout, featuring a mezzanine upper floor/bedroom deck with king size bed and countryside views. We are located in a tranquil rural area, just 10 minutes walk to the coast and 15 minutes walk to the nearest pub and cafe/chipshop. We do accept small/medium size dogs at a surcharge, subject to prior arrangement
New to Anglesey? Here's a bit more information: Anglesey is many things. It is a place that inspires, a place that appeals to all the senses – a place to see, hear, taste, smell and feel. It is a place to get away from it all. But most of all, Anglesey is a place to get out and do! From the minute you cross one of the bridges you’ll see stunning landscapes, unspoilt coastlines and picturesque towns and villages that are just waiting to be explored. Miles of scenic walks on the on the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path and cycle paths await you, as do some of the best water based activities. There is so much to be discovered, from the islands rich culture and heritage and wonderful gardens to the unusual ‘moonscape’ landscapes that are home to an extraordinary amount of plants and wildlife. Much of our coastline has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), and come rain or shine our fabulous beaches offer something for everyone – vast stretches of sand, safe swimming and windswept bays where a bracing walk and rock pooling are the call of the day. Here, seeing really is believing, but don’t just take our word for it – come and experience Anglesey for yourself.
Our local pub, The Adelphi Vaults is only a short walk away, and you 're always guaranteed a warm welcome. Other local highlights would be the secluded cove and beach at Point Lynas, where you can frequently see dolphins and porpoises, and the amazing "lunar landscape" of the old copper mines at Parys Mountain (5 minutes by car). The coastal path is a 10 minute walk and the villages of Moelfre and Cemaes Bay are around 15 minutes drive.

We have a covered outdoor area for drying wet suits etc and guests can use the owners utility room to dry wet walking gear and boots. We have Sky and Sky sports and a private enclosed patio which is safe for dogs. We love to meet our guests and make them as welcome as possible and in the five years that we have run this business we have guests that have returned seven times!

NO BOOKINGS BEING TAKEN Harbours Edge is a small, cosy newly-converted studio flat on the harbour-side in Cemaes Bay. You walk straight out onto the harbour side and watch the maritime activities on your doorstep - boats coming and going out of the harbour, children crabbing on the pier, people fishing or just soaking up the beautiful scenery from your water's edge seating area Harbour’s Edge is furnished in a modern coastal style in a beautiful seaside village with plenty of amenities
Harbour's Edge is ideally suited to 2 people but can sleep three as there is a double bed and a small sofa bed. There is space to store bikes, kayaks and beach/walking equipment in the large hall. Guests have a harbourside outdoor seating area from which many of the scenes from the BBC drama “Pitching In” were filmed in 2018. Actors including Larry Lamb and Hayley Mills used the flat as a base while filming.
Visitors come here to walk the Anglesey coastal path, enjoy the three beaches, eat and drink in the local pubs and restaurants and have a wonderful time in the place which the Dalai Lama called "the most peaceful place on earth" Cemaes is the most northerly village in Wales and was originally an ancient fishing village. The village includes a sheltered natural harbour that looks north to the Irish Sea and is a site of an ancient settlement that in more recent centuries has become a centre for maritime activities (as well as smuggling and piracy). The harbour is a integral part of the village. At the right times you can see fishermen return with their haul (Cemaes Bay lobster is shipped all over the world). You can go on fishing trips from the Harbour and boat trips to many of the surrounding areas of interest. In May and June the islands known as The Skerries are full of arctic terns and puffins and it is possible to go on a boat trip to view them Cemaes Bay has three sandy beaches – originally named ‘Traeth Mawr’ (Big Beach), Traeth Sincio (Sinking Beach – don’t panic – you only sink a few inches) and Traeth Bach (Little Beach) which are separated by a natural stone harbour that looks to the Irish Sea. At high tide you may hear the tidal bell chime as the waves roll to and from the beach. Around the village you will probably see lots of images of Cemaes in the old days. You may also encounter lots of flower displays. The local gardening group, Cemaes in Bloom, maintain the village’s floral displays, and in recent years the village has won prizes with both Wales- and Britain-in-Bloom competitions. The village provides a great base to explore all of Anglesey – especially the coastal path. Whether you go east or west from Cemaes you will find plenty of deserted beaches and desolate cliff tops to explore. If you enjoy photography, the area in and around the village provides some great sights and scenes for you to capture. The sunsets can be spectacular. Between the end of the 18th and beginning of the 20th century the village was noted for producing salted herring, building ships, and brick construction from a nearby works. The brickworks was served by a narrow gauge tramway down to the sea The Surrounding Area Anglesey is renowned for its miles of stunning and varied coastline offering wonderful walking and cycling, renowned birdwatching, excellent watersports, fishing and many quality golf courses. The well-known Sea Zoo, Pili Pali (Butterfly World) and a variety of National Trust properties and gardens are all within reach of Cemaes

One of two delightful shepherds huts set in a 5 acre working smallholding with fabulous views over open countryside towards Snowdonia. This hut, Cae, which means field in Welsh, has a fold-down kingsize bed. The huts, hand-built to our design, are warm and cosy with electric heating, their own en-suite showers and gas cookers. The huts suit adult couples, looking for a quiet break. Each hut has its own firepit and BBQ, outdoor seating and blankets so you can sit and stargaze on a clear night.
The two huts are situated 50 yards apart, making them private spaces, but they are close enough together for someone looking for a holiday with friends. You can park very close to Cae and there is a gravel path up to its steps!
Llanfaethlu is a small village a mile from the beach, and there is a shop, post office and cafe all in walking distance. The North West coast of Anglesey is an area of outstanding natural beauty with amazing coastal walks and opportunities for birdwatching. It's a short drive to the holiday resorts on the South coast for surfing, shopping and eating.
