“Called the cultural heart of the city’s local cuisine, Jalan Alor is one of the most famous roads in Kuala Lumpur for food. Located just behind Jalan Bukit Bintang, it is basically a strip of atmospheric air-conditioned Chinese seafood restaurants, with a row of hawker stalls set up on the five-foot walkway on both sides and plastic tables and chairs spilling out onto the road.    The food and ambiance is its main draw, with vendors furiously fanning grills of chicken and beef skewers, the metallic clang of frying woks and the air thick with charcoal smoke. The variety of food available is amazing with barbecued meats, noodles and desserts recognised as some of the best (and cheapest) in the city. Most of these dishes cannot be found in fashion-conscious restaurants making these hawkers a favourite on the city’s foodie scene. Most have picture menus, making ordering an easy affair. Read More... Opening Hours: 17:00 - late Address: Jalan Alor, Kuala Lumpur (behind Jalan Bukit Bintang) ”

“This is the one place you can’t miss out, and we can’t stop mentioning enough. Jalan Alor, on the line up to Bukit Bintang and Changkat – the most-visited places of urban Malaysia – offers a good easing in to the atmosphere of roadside dining, should you be unfamiliar with this concept. Although this stretch of road is littered with coffee shops, making it more of an extended outdoor restaurant, the entire road forms an unbroken river of delicacies that is something special in itself. Revel in the multitude of areas provided to dine at, as real food markets have almost no seating provided. Drinks & Nightlife”

The foods are offered at very low prices making it a popular haunt of the locals and also of the tourists. The service is friendly and warm. Must try the "Roti Tisssue (sweet)" and the "Double Cheese Naan". ”
