Welcome to Kaka Point area and The Southern Scenic Route.
There is so much to see and view.
So take the time to spend a few days. sight seeing and photographic opportunities
Wildlife, Sunrise/Sunsets, Native Bush & coastal walks, Sandy Beachs, Nugget Point Light House, Waterfalls, Rivers, fishing , Diving, Wild Life, Caves..
include a visit to the penguin colony at Roaring Bay and the Nugget Point Lighthouse.
you will see seals, penguins and other wildlife in their natural habitat.
Sea lions, seals and Bird life are also spotted at various times.

an Idea is to start trip to Nugget Point about 2 hours before sunset to view penguins coming in from sea for the night. (sunset times changes depends on time of year and also weather depends on what you can view) then see the amazing sunsets also a great place to catch the southern lights

Welcome to our Homestays at Kaka Point The Catlins.

Graeme and I are really enjoying meeting and communicating with guests from all over the world
We have bedrooms and and a bed room with own small kitchen in our home and a caravan that guests can stay in with shared toilet, shower room.

Take a look at our listings I'm sure there will be a home stay room to suit your needs

So check all our listings to see what suits you.

We both enjoy the out doors.
We enjoy waking in the mornings hearing the noise of Tui's, Bell birds etc in the native trees beside us.
Fishing, beach and bush walking bike riding etc.
we also love working in the veg garden where we try growing lots of different vegetables and then enjoy creating meals from what we have grown.
