The Cabin is a self-contained detached annex on a quiet beachfront no-through road. A 50 metres walk to the beach, it was fully refurbished in 2021 by the owners, who live onsite in another part of the property.
The Cabin has its own private courtyard, complete with outside heated shower. With 2 bedrooms (1 double and 1 set of adult sized bunks), it is delightfully styled with a fully equipped open plan kitchen, bar dining and lounge area.
Fantastic for water sports, beach lovers and walkers.

The Cabin has the following :

1 * double bedroom (euro size double bed 140cm by 200cm)

1* bunkroom with bunk beds - euro adult size bunks .(90cm by 200cm mattresses) these bunk beds are manufactured in U.K. and are heavy duty rated to take 2 adults to a max weight of 114kg each . Please be aware that due to the height of the ceiling the bunks are close together and there isn't the room for adults/teenagers to sit up in bed. Having said that we have had adult family members at 6ft 2” and 6ft 4” sleep in them when visiting.

( note: younger children should not use top bunk as danger of fall from height )

1 * bathroom with rainfall shower / w.c / basin / towel rail ( nb: sliding barn door )

1* open plan kitchen / diner / lounge

Induction hob
Washer / dryer machine
Fridge with freezer compartment
Toaster / kettle / coffee machine
Island with bar stool seating (not suitable for young children )
2 small sofas and HD TV
Vacuum cleaner
Iron / Ironing board
Monoxide detector – yes but no real requirement as there is no gas !

Outside private courtyard . Planters and pots with outside shower and seating.
Electric BBQ grill provided for use outside.

We believe in sustainable tourism where possible and as a result we offer free eco-friendly body wash , hand wash, laundry and cleaning liquids. We provide a starter pack of bamboo and/or recycled paper kitchen towels and toilet roll. There is an EV charger in the driveway - that uses circa 30% solar power from our solar panels and 70% from the grid on a sunny day - we ask for the grid proportion to be paid for if the charger is used. We refurbished the property in 2021 and insulated it to a high standard, replaced the gas central heating and appliances and are now solely electric. We have top up solar thermal to heat the hot water in addition to electric hot water.

West Wittering, England, Bretland

The beach is about a 50 metre walk back down the private road in either direction. The beach has a small shingle bank and then sand appears as soon as the tide drops, with plenty of space to play. At low tide the water is shallow for quite a way out but gets deep quickly at higher states of the tide when it’s on the shingle. You can walk along footpaths to the sand dunes at East Head.

The sunsets over the Isle of Wight and the sunrises over Selsey to the east, can be truly spectacular and we never tire of them. Have your camera ready !

The beach is popular with windsurfers and kite surfers . The beach does gets some swell and waves occasionally and when it does it is popular with surfers and surf paddle boarders – but don’t bank on it being a surfing holiday as it is quite rare unfortunately. Nevertheless there is quite a surf vibe to the village and equipment can be hired at Shore Watersports in East Wittering – or at 2XS on West Wittering beach.

Further down the beach towards Bracklesham you can go fossil hunting at low tide on the sand for ancient sharks teeth, crocodile skin, turtle shell, stingray 'teeth' and more !

The Cabin has off street parking for 1 small to medium sized family car on our shared driveway and has an electric charging point which is free to use. The road is private and has restricted parking.

There is unrestricted parking for second cars or for larger vehicles in nearby roads, which are only 50 metres or so walk .. however these roads are very popular to park in and are busy during the summer but plenty of spaces can be found after the day trippers have left for the day or before they arrive!

East Wittering village has a great selection of shops, cafes, pub and restaurants with a small Tesco and a Co-Op, as well as 2 butchers , 2 greengrocers, 2 bakeries, 3 pharmacies (!) a toy shop, pet shop, fishmongers, fisherman’s shack, surf shops and hairdressers etc .. the village is an easy 10 minute level walk ..there are also some very good local pubs with fine dining that are a short drive or cycle ride away.

There are great coffee shops also at West Wittering - the Landing - and at Bracklesham - GOAT coffee ..

..and the Boulevard cafe in East Wittering does amazing full english breakfasts ..

Chichester harbour is beautiful and fantastic walks can be taken within a small cycle ride or car ride - although if you are fit it is perfectly possible to walk from the Cabin to West Wittering and then onto the harbourside. Great pubs in the area include the Lamb Inn at Birdham, the Ship Inn at Itchenor, or take the ferry over from Itchenor to Bosham and walk the 40 minutes to the Anchor Bleu on the harbourside in historic Bosham.

Further away, but easily accessible by car, are the South Downs, with fabulous walks and mountain biking through rolling hills and yew trees. The Owners would be pleased to recommend their favourite walks and post-walk pubs in the Downs.
