One bedroom studio apartment on ground floor of divided single-family home in the East End of New Providence with air conditioning, kitchen, bathroom and access to tropical garden backyard. Off street parking for your rental. Neighborhood of Bahamian professional class between Prince Charles Dr and Eastern Rd, easy and close access to grocery stores and Yamacraw beach.Walled off from main house with no access between. Sleeps 2 comfortably, but you can squeeze in 6 with the two sofa beds.

Eignin
Lots of window light, warm decour, comfortable and appealing; quiet neighborhood. Kitchen has gas stove, dishwasher, fridge, basic utensils and and an "L" island counter to eat on and gather around. Backyard is shared with main house occupant who works at the University of the Bahamas 10 - 6pm M-F. Apartment is professionally cleaned prior to each stay. This is not a beach apartment, but is a good base for visiting any of the many beaches and other tourist locations around the island - about a 10 minute drive to downtown Nassau. You should definitely rent a vehicle upon arrival at the airport. Although Bahamians drive on the left-side, you will find that it just takes a little more concentration and you will adjust quickly; driving here is as orderly as the US with marked roads and street signs.

Sans Souci is a neighborhood of professionals; neighbors are doctors, dentists, or small business owners. Typical upper-middle class neighborhood. Quiet street, but quick access to the main roads. Grocery stores, pizza, ice cream, pharmacy are 2 - 3 minutes away. There is a small park with a playground and walking track about 3 blocks from the house. Yamacraw Beach is around 2 miles away. While not being a spectacular as Cabbage Beach on Paradise Island, it is uncrowded and a nice local beach.

I work at UB, which is about a 30 minute drive from the house and will be gone Mon-Fri during normal business hours. I am accessible by phone during that time. During weekends my time in the house varies quite a bit. The apartment is self-sufficient and it is unlikely that you will need to contact me. Upon reservation, I will send you an email with map links to nearby beaches, grocery stores, and restaurants and some general advice on visiting the Bahamas. Unfortunately due to my work schedule, I am unable to make airport pick-ups or drive guests around - what I am offering is a safe, secure, clean, simple studio apartment that you can use as a home-base to enjoy the same beaches and locations that others are paying many hundreds of dollars per day at the large hotel chains.
