This comfy cottage was designed and built with short-term rental in mind with special features and amenities not typically found in your average listing. Your private entrance welcomes you to a 700 sq. ft. space you can call your own with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The space is ideal for 2 people but can easily sleep up to 4. Heated bathroom floor and gas fireplace provide warmth during the cooler months. Big windows for daylight & views. Backs to a greenspace. Two bathrooms.

Eignin
The master bathroom features a tile-lined shower with a high-quality adjustable-height showerhead. A heated bathroom floor in the cooler months means toasty warm feet getting in and out of the shower and getting dressed in the adjacent walk-in closet. The other bathroom is a half-bath that doubles as a laundry room.

The complete kitchen features floating shelves and a subway tile back splash that complements the shaker-style cabinets. The large tall dining table in the kitchen nook doubles as a pleasant place to dine, drink coffee and use as a practical workspace.

The living room is the place to hang out with a nice view of the flower garden and back yard. A remote-controlled gas fireplace provides heating in the cooler months along with year-long ambiance. A Roku TV is easy to use and provides a long list of available free channels along with the option to use your own subscription TV viewing options such as Netflix. Access the high-speed wireless internet for your computer and video streaming.

For overnight rest, nothing beats a comfortable bed in a quiet bedroom. Stylish barn doors will likely remain open during most of your stay but securely lock as needed for privacy. A high-quality sound machine provides a variety of background sound options for relaxing and sleeping. Automatic night lights under the bed provide temporary low-light guidance for middle of the night bathroom or snack trips.

Outside you will find a large cement patio with table and chairs. A large umbrella provides shade and extra privacy in summer months. When it gets dark, a gas fire tower will brighten up your evening and help keep you warm. When the weather is nice, feel free to explore beyond the fence-lined back yard through the gate and down the stairs to a secluded landing overlooking the wooded greenspace clearing. Sit and relax in this suburban oasis right in back of our home. For an enhanced forest experience, walk through the neighborhood over to nearby Noble Woods Nature Park a few blocks away.

Energy efficiency and sustainability were important ingredients of constructing this space. Most of the electricity is provided by solar panels on the roof. A heat pump water heater provides all the hot water. Cork flooring is a sustainable product and produces a quieter living space. The bath fans automatically detect humidity and occupancy to provide fresh air, control moisture and are super quiet.

Extra effort was taken to reduce noise from above. The ceiling is actually suspended to avoid direct contact with ceiling joists. Sound deadening sheet rock was used along with extra thick sound insulation. It's very good but not perfect. You may still hear faint footsteps and the occasional flushing toilet, mostly in the laundry room.

Note: We have a storage space adjacent to the rental unit that we can privately access via stairs from the main level. You will probably never notice, but if you hear some muffled sounds from the other side of the laundry room, don't be alarmed, that's just us getting something from storage!

Our house is in a cul-de-sac that backs up to acres of natural wooded greenspace that is home to a variety of birds, squirrels and deer. Noble Woods Nature Park is a short walk away.

Food and services are nearby. Two large grocery stores withing walking distance along with fast food options. Favorite restaurants are just a short drive away.

We are close to Intel, Nike and Hillsboro Airport.

We are only a few miles from Wine Country. There are many amazing vineyards nearby, from quaint to elaborate. From wooded to amazing valley and mountain views.

We often take day trips to the beach, about 90 minutes away. Cannon Beach is a favorite but many more coastal destinations are also nearby.

Mt. Hood is just a slightly longer trip than the beach, but so worth it any time of year. The Columbia River Gorge with its waterfalls and scenic views is an international destination. You can visit both Mt. Hood and the Gorge by taking "the loop" route in one day if you want.

Closer to home, downtown Hillsboro is just a few miles west on East Main Street. Summer and fall feature markets with food and music.

The Reserve Vineyard and Golf Club is open to the public and just a few miles away. The Vintage Room Restaurant is a great dining experience.

Patti is enjoying her retirement by staying busy with friends at the gym, hiking trails or being involved in church activities.
