Next level glamping! This gorgeous little hideout is surrounded by Japanese Maples, pines and a variety of other tall, lush trees. Admire wildlife (birds, chipmunks, deer) all around you in this private oasis that makes you feel like you're away from it all, yet super close to the region's best restaurants, charming cafes and bars in Beacon, Newburgh, Fishkill, Wappinger's and Poughkeepsie. It's a rustic paradise!

The perfect escape from the city for a weekend or up to two weeks. We are sorry but for everyone's safety, NO CHILDREN NOR PETS PERMITTED (there is no fence separating the guesthouse from the pool).

The Hideout is on 4 acres of property (we live in the main house), within a fenced-in area containing the pool, that's all your own to enjoy in the summer. If you want the feeling like you're remote, while being a quick drive from conveniences, sightseeing, hiking, bars and restaurants, this is perfect for you! Your bedroom is almost entirely windows (with screens) so that you virtually feel like you're sleeping outside. Besides a full kitchen, there's an eating area outside your door by the pool, along with a grill for your use.

Because this home is practically in the middle of the woods, you WILL see bugs and we cannot guarantee that the guesthouse will be bug-free, try as hard as we can with deep cleaning, keeping the door shut, spraying from time to time, etc. If you are extremely bug phobic, this may not be the place for you (ie, spiders, mosquitoes, centipedes and bees).

My heart and soul are divided between two places that I deeply love: New York and New Orleans.

I work as a Manager of Community for a website that is all about helping people discover local businesses and I thrive on discovering the best places to eat, drink and play in cities across the globe. I am a native New Yorker, have lived in New Orleans for 7 years.

I am vegan and I have had great passion for this lifestyle for over 20 years. I eat out a lot (and can help veg and veg-curious travelers find great places), but I also cook at home. I thrive on traveling and finding the best vegan/healthy joints in each place I visit.

In my free time I like to work out (Peloton + yoga) read, work on my novel, figure out my costumes for Halloween and Mardi Gras, play with my cats and discover the best local businesses in town. I adore historical buildings and can't imagine living in a home that's less than 60 years old (my house in NOLA is over 100!), though now I also live in a house that's about 40 years old in the Hudson River Valley.

My favorite places to visit include Italy, Costa Rica, and Bali. I like staying in boutique hotels (I travel constantly for work), but there's nothing like staying in a unique neighborhood in any given town.

I appreciate killer design (with a fondness for Mid Century Modern, though my own style is much more eclectic and leans towards antique oddities and shabby chic).

I love to entertain and have hosted anything from intimate soirees to epic bashes for over a thousand people. I can show you how to have the best time!

I look forward to sharing my homes with people who are destined to fall in love with New Orleans the way I first did, 20 years ago, as well as the glorious Hudson Valley, NY. As a host, I will do whatever I can to make the most of your time in my gorgeous city (if you don't love New Orleans, we probably don't have anything in common). I will help you find all the gems. As a guest, I'm considerate and appreciative of all that you do.
