Sri Mathie plantation, built in 1910 is furnished with family antiques and historic art works. In a forested area, it is five minutes from the sea, 20 minutes from Galle Fort. Sri Mathie is a working estate with coconuts, rubber, mangoes, cinnamon and pepper. We grow vegetables and our chickens provide eggs and our cows give fresh milk. Eignin
Our large infinity swimming pool (45'X16") overlooks the edge of our coconut plantation. We also have a 2,000+ book library with subjects ranging from Buddhism, South Asian arts, to contemporary fiction.

Mary is an American academic who grew up in California, and has now lived in South Asia for many years. She has a Ph.D. in South Asian Art History from UCLA and an M.A. in East Asian Studies from Stanford University. Along the way she acquired a Diplome from Le Cordon Bleu, Paris. Guy is English; he grew up in Nigeria, went to school in the UK and has lived and in worked in Paris and New York. He is an art dealer, cricket fan, and bird watcher. We both like to read, cook, garden and wander the remote areas of South Asia. Archaeological sites get us excited. We enjoy meeting new people and chatting about art, music, and current events.
