Consisting of 2 bedrooms upstairs and a bathroom with laundry facilities then down stairs on ground level are the kitchen, living and dining spaces with an additional toilet. It's large open plan with windows on either side for excellent ventilation and natural light throughout. Doors and windows are lockable to keep it secure with the train station just a 2 minute walk that'll take you straight to Southern Cross Station.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD:

Our apartment is in an enviable location on the fringe of the city centre. Close by to some great restaurants and bars. Head into the city and visit Hardware Societe at 120 Hardware Street for awesome French breakfasts. Cumulus Inc is a famous, casual bar and restaurant at 45 Flinders Lane with incredible food and a convivial atmosphere. Around the corner from Cumulus Inc is Melbourne's most famous tapas bar, Movida, head here late into the evening to find out why it is so well loved: incredible tapas and excellent wine. Locally you'll find awesome Pizza on Errol St North Melbourne at Oskar Pizza and Melbourne's best cup of coffee (seriously) at Auction Rooms.

Getting around

TRAIN:
Trains from Newmarket Railway Station will take you to Southern Cross Station and Flinders St Station in around 10 mins

I'm Linton, I own and run a short-stay management company, Beyond a Room, here in Melbourne. If you book with me you'll be communicating with both myself and my team. I’m an entrepreneur, architecture graduate, photographer, cyclist (NOT the lycra kind), volunteer, adventurer and problem solver. During my studies I worked at various cafes and architecture offices to save up for shoestring trips around the world. My grandma once told me I had ‘champagne taste but a beer budget’ and it’s a motto I’ve enjoyed applying to different parts of my life to get the more out of less and find enjoyment in the little things. I love discovering authentic experiences when I travel and I love being able to share the opportunity with others, to live like a local when they travel too. Some of my most memorable trips have been couch-surfin across Russia while taking the Trans Siberian, living in Helsinki and learning to hand build furniture, riding a vintage steel bicycle through France to race in L’Eroica and buying a car on craigzlist in Los Angeles and driving across the south, east and north coasts to arrive in Vancouver. My listings are all managed by Beyond a Room. My aim is to give guests a unique and local perspective on the location and share my knowledge and experience of this wonderful city with travellers so that they feel at home.
