Eden is a shared hostel bedroom with half bathroom located in the historic Red Victorian, near Haight-Ashbury. (Please note: this listing is for the bottom bed, beneath the loft)

The Red Victorian is an experimental community run hotel that offers unique guest experiences. While here, we invite you to attend events: lectures & talks, skill shares, music nights, art shows!

Near Golden Gate Park and Twin Peaks, this central location also offers easy direct lines to both downtown and the beach.

Eignin
The bottom double in Eden is a semi-private curtained space within a huge beautiful well-lit room. Located on the top floor, Eden is the sunniest room in the house and filled with light and plants. The room is also the quietest room in the house (furthest from the street), and is located directly across from the cozy third floor lounge. It has its own private bathroom. It used to be the room that Sami Sunchild (the Red Victorian’s founder) once occupied.

- Self check-in from 4pm onwards. Self check-out at 11am. If you arrive early, you can leave your bags in our guest storage area on the ground floor until check-in time.

- You will have access to your bedroom and all the shared spaces (main space, kitchen, lounge with sauna, shared bathrooms, and an office space).

- Like its people, the space changes frequently and offers surprises and secrets at every turn. We welcome you to explore and discover its various experiences (but please leave shared spaces better than you found them!).

Annað til að hafa í huga
The Red Victorian is an experimental hostel for the fiercely independent traveler. It has all the charm of a historic 100-year old hotel on Haight street and comes along with all the creaky floors, old plumbing, and other quirks/idiosyncrasies/surprises that our community-led team works around the clock to fix up. Haight Street and The Red Victorian are gritty, unpolished, and as authentically San Francisco as it gets. While we are not a luxury resort, we have plenty of art, comfortable clean beds, shared food, and opportunities to connect with the local community and other travelers.

Staðsetning

Haight Ashbury, San Francisco, Kalifornía

Haight-Ashbury is an incredible relic of San Francisco’s past. The neighborhood, also known as “The Haight” or “Upper Haight”, succinctly personifies the City’s history, aesthetic, and culture.

It is perhaps the most colorful swath of acreage in San Francisco, and remains one of the last-standing neighborhoods to retain an eccentric personality.

The Haight rose to fame during the Counterculture Movement during the Vietnam War era; it became a regular feature in international news headlines and incited a global initiative for social change with special thanks to the 1967 Summer of Love, and a little help from Janis Joplin and the Grateful Dead.

The Haight-Ashbury neighborhood is nestled in between three parks: Golden Gate Park, the Panhandle, and Buena Vista Park, making it somewhat of an urban oasis. Within the parks you'll find: Museums, botanical gardens, seasonal music festivals, and a tea garden.

We recommend:
- Eating at a one of the delicious restaurants or food trucks, or catching a bus to Japantown for ramen.
- Renting a bike and crossing the famous bay bridge.
- Walking, biking, skating or pedal boating in the park.
- Shopping in the local stores.
- Attending a local art or theatre performance.
