If you're wanting peace and comfort, Laurel Cottage won't disappoint…. “Charming cottage with a very serene ambience that makes for an idyllic getaway to explore the Wairarapa. Very clean and has everything you need for your stay. Very well planned & maintained.” A wee ‘home away from home’, the cottage is set in an 'oasis of a garden', a short walk away from our village cafes/restaurants. Your hosts enjoy a chat & are available for advice if needed but will usually leave you to enjoy the quiet.

Eignin
There is no extra cleaning charge at Laurel Cottage. NB. The cottage is located in Wairarapa area, approx 90mins drive from Wellington CBD.
Our cancellation policy is flexible up to 24 hrs before the booking commences however we do appreciate plenty of warning.
There is generally a window of 24hrs allowed between guests.
All linen including duvet covers etc is laundered between guests.
Please note the children and visitors policy *below.

The living space (with aircon/heat pump) includes a modern kitchen with under bench fridge/freezer, a microwave and conventional oven, a ceramic cook top with range hood, pantry, dining table and chairs. Plenty of cookware -saucepans/frypans, bowls, utensils etc.

There is a 2-3 seater *sofa sleeper, a comfy chair and ottoman/coffee table, smart tv, fast wireless internet, Netflix (your own account).

The kitchen is well equipped for those who wish to cook. Some milk is supplied along with basic breakfast supplies for 1 morning. The pantry is stocked with teas, coffee options (a Vittoria espresso machine) milo, drinking chocolate, sugar, oil, salt.

There is a cavity slider door between the living area and bedroom and between the bathroom and wardrobe area. There is an electric blanket on the queen bed in winter. The bed linen is mostly quality cotton, for all year comfort. There are blanket and pillow options in the wardrobe.

The walk in wardrobe (between the bedroom and the ensuite bathroom) has space to store some of your gear but no bikes in the cottage please - can offer secure bike storage in our garage.

There is a pull out clothesline under the verandah. Hand washing can be done in the bathroom, pegs supplied or there’s a great Laundromat just south of the supermarket.

*The basic, pull out sofa bed (in the living area) is a generous dbl bed size, best suited for 1 person. A 4th guest could be considered if they're prepared to share the couch (ok for 1 night) would need to be requested ie not instant booked. Please also request bedding for the couch if there are only 2 guests staying who need a bed each. There may be a pillow topper available (in the wardrobe) for added comfort on the couch.
NB-access to the bathroom/toilet for the couch sleeper is only through the bedroom so not suitable for all groups.
Guests also enjoy; unlimited wifi, dbl glazing/insulation, air con/heat pump.

*CHILDREN & VISITORS POLICY -for privacy reasons and a lack of space in the cottage it is not available to families with active young children, however a baby (not yet crawling) is welcome. If you wish to bring an older child do not instant book for 3 people but make a request clearly mentioning a child first.

VISITORS- by consultation please. Booking the cottage doesn’t entitle guests to authorise anyone else to come onto the property.

WEDDINGS - permission must be sought, at the time of booking, for a bride or wedding party to use the cottage for wedding preparations that require other people to come on site - please enquire.

Off street parking is on our front drive (dbl entry from street), for 2 guest cars.

Accessibility for mobility impaired guests:
The access from the path to the deck is via a concrete path which is ramped up to a low deck. There are no steps - just the usual door-frame lip -easily wheel chair capable as far as the living area but not through the bedroom or bathroom doors.

Carterton, Wellington, Nýja-Sjáland

Carterton is considered to be the heart of the Wairarapa therefore guests are well positioned to access all of the attractions the region has to offer. For those guests heading to or from Wellington we are conveniently located, near the main state highway 2.
We are fortunate to live on a street with beautiful mature trees. Memorial Park, with seating and garden at the town end of the street along with the Buckhorn hotel - great for a pub style meal Wed- Sun and other good food choices opposite the park -chicken/pizza place, the Olive Branch & Taj Indian. Carrington Park, with a good walk around the perimeter and multiple exercise stations is easily accessed off a Park Rd side street (Dixon) and down the driveway next to the school.

Our street links the shopping centre with rural Carterton east, including Gladstone, and in the other direction Parkvale, and Martinborough via the Ponatahi route (a pleasant drive). We’re very close to the Carterton village shops and its Sunday market. 5 minutes walk to all of the cafes and food outlets in Carterton. A Mobil petrol station, 2 laundromats, tennis courts and local library, Carterton's Events Centre with Information Centre, Railway Station and are all within easy, flat, walking distance.
