Relax and enjoy our 350 sq ft warm and quiet basement bachelor suite with a full private kitchen and a private bathroom. Fast WiFi, TV with Optik cable, gas fireplace, queen bed, walk in shower, an EVC, and off street parking. It is a 10 minute (steep) walk to Kalamalka Beach and the Rail Trail. We have added a folding foam bed for another guest. Perfect for a couple or the business traveler. We do a full disinfection between guests. You can have a suite for the price of a cheap motel!

Eignin
The bed is a super comfy queen size and the whole space is very private and quiet. There are four stairs up to the front door and six stairs down to the suite. The kitchen is quite large, with a gas range, microwave, and a full size fridge. Our kitchen has many extras, usually missing in a rental kitchen: sharp knives, a magic bullet blender, a coffee grinder, toaster oven, etc. We can provide a crib and highchair for an infant or toddler. There is no view but excellent natural light and ventilation. There is a beautiful outside area for your enjoyment in the backyard and an abundance of outdoor recreation within walking distance. The house is shared with the owners and another rental unit. Please advise us if you need to use the EVC. That entails some rearranging of the parking.

Monique and I met on the road 29 years ago and we are still passionate travelers. We have stayed in countless bungalows, palapas, hotels, motels, and B&B's.

We have a four season Northern Lite RV and have been to quite a few lakes and valleys around BC. In a combined 30 years working as tree planters, Monique and I have visited every corner of BC. Just ask if you want traveling tips.

Our place is set up for travelers. We provide what we like to find when we travel. Clean, affordable, long hot showers, racks to hold our luggage, good WiFi, and a wall safe.

Our piece of paradise is about 75 m above the height of Kalamalka Lake, and about 750 m, three STEEP blocks from the public beach.

Our beach features a SUP rental, convenience store, coffee shop, liquor store, patio restaurant, and pub. The view is spectacular, facing south down the Valley.

The Okanagan Rail Trail is a short ride away.

Also near by are great places to swim, fish, paddle board, bike, golf, walk, ski, cross country ski, snowshoe, snow board, and work up an appetite for the great local food and wine!

Wildlife is common to our property. Mule deer, quail and pheasants frequent our backyard. We are located on a major migratory bird fly way.

The night sky is decent for star viewing. The Northern Lights can often be seen. The nearby mountains offer some very good star gazing.

You will have access to a shared washer and dryer on the lower level. This laundry, the waxing bench, and the front hall are the only shared spaces.

Aðgengi gesta
The washer, dryer, waxing station, and entry hall are shared with the owners and the guests in another suite. Please, no laundry after 10pm or before 10 am. Please ask for access to the waxing stuff.

Bikes may be stored on the back patio.

The back yard has a nice view with chairs and a fire pit. You are welcome to enjoy that space. Please leave the fire pit strictly for the owners use. There is a propane BBQ on the lower rear patio for cooking.

Annað til að hafa í huga
Access is by digital locks on the entry and suite doors. You can check yourself in with the door code that I will send to you. Please park in your assigned spot, the RV lane on the up hill side of the property. Take care entering and exiting, I recommend backing in.

We recently bought a retirement property in the Okanagan. We are renting out the finished top floor, and a large lower suite, while we use half the lower floor for our own holidays. I am an active semi retired senior. My wife, Monique Haziza, and I enjoy outdoor activities like x country skiing, camping, canoeing and hiking while at home in BC. Monique has a passion for dance and circus arts, particularly the trapeze. While traveling we are mostly drawn to tropical beaches. We have spent many happy holidays in Mexico (Nayarit), Thailand (Phuket), Hawaii (Kauai'), Indonesia (Bali), and Turks and Caicos (Grace Bay). We like to swim, surf and snorkel in the sea. Our style of travel is to try to experience the place we are as fully as possible. We have frequently been mistaken for locals. We prefer to do our own shopping and cooking. We are practitioners of Sokka Gakki Buddhism. Our ideal is to treat all of our fellow humans with fundamental respect. Monique and I met 28 years ago in a tree planting camp. I spent 20 years as a tree planter and contractor. I planted about 850,000 trees and supervised the planting of about 6 million more. Monique planted about 1.1 million trees in 10 years. I am a retired renovation contractor and Monique is a Pilates master instructor.
