Open street level space with garden courtyard in the heart of downtown Santa Cruz. Our eclectic "clubhouse" is the perfect getaway to enjoy and explore the music, food and unique vibe that is The Pacific Garden Mall. Unit is set up for self check in.

Our unit decor is always changing. We do not re photograph the unit after moving furniture, adding artwork or changing bedding style. We invite artists to draw on our walls. Please contact me if you see anything inappropriate that our team may have missed. Otherwise, the photos you see here are to give you an understanding and feel of our space.

PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION THOROUGHLY. THIS FLAT IS OUR SURF SHACK, IT IS AN OPEN STUDIO, IT IS BROKEN DOWN AND IN AN OLDER BUILDING. IT IS PERFECT FOR GROUPS, FAMILIES AND PEOPLE WHO WANT TO LAND AND ENJOY Santa Cruz AND THE BEACH. Please DO NOT book with us if you are looking for a normal house or a hotel accommodation. READ REVIEWS. We will respond to negative reviews about the condition of our property with a clear message that you should have read the description.

We reserve the right to rent to large groups during summer months as this is our high season from June through September. Also, additional fee for large parties of 10 or more due to trash, wear and tear, water and other. Thank you.

TWIN size sofa that doubles as a bed.

The back wall shares the same wall as THE CATALYST NIGHT CLUB. Bands play until 12:00 p.m. and some acts are loud and the bass comes through our space. No refunds for complaint about noise. Check the online Catalyst calendar for upcoming shows.

PLEASE NOTE: We are open and willing to share this eclectic, crooked older building with people who can appreciate its funky, quirky merits. We have outfitted this space with repurposed furniture and original works of art. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A PRISTINE, TRADITIONAL HOUSE THEN THIS SPACE WILL NOT BE A GOOD FIT. Please do not book a stay with us and then leave a low review due to the condition of the building and interiors. This space is our clubhouse, our beach house and is used for parties, relaxing, families and animals. We have photographed the space by room and added photos of details that are crooked and aged so you may decide for yourself.

PLEASE NOTE: Our unit is cleaned within 24 hours of each stay. There may be a week that goes by until another guest checks in. Our building is older, dust settles on cabinets during the week due to the vibration of the neighboring night club. P L E A S E.........if you need a pristine environment our flat will not be a good fit. I have had people complain about the dust and there is no way to dust before the arrival of each group of guests.

PLEASE NOTE: This space was designed to feel like Santa Cruz in the 70s. There is no internet, TV or phone. The building is old and has cracks and uneven places in the plaster and trim. Our space was built in the 50's and we like it that way. This is a truly Bohemian home meant for creating art, music, poetry and memories.

The space is open with no doors only room dividers.

Ground level, no steps, no OVEN, no AC
- Kitchen has refrigerator, microwave and stove top, (NO OVEN).
- There are skylights in the space so bring eye patches if you have to sleep with it absolutely dark or ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.
- The heater is industrial and loud but takes care of business when you need it.
We will remind guests that this space is ABSOLUTELY DOWNTOWN and the vibrant, colorful, lively, energy of this street is right outside the door. The Santa Cruz police are fantastic and keep a very close watch on the area. When entering or exiting the patio, please be aware of your immediate surroundings as would be advisable in any bigger city.
- THE LAYOUT IS AN OPEN STUDIO.
- NOTE…….certain weekends are very desirable. We reserve the right to book with the group who's offer is best for us. Until you book, the space is open to anyone.

THE WALLS AND FLOORS OF OUR BUILDING ARE CROOKED AND THERE ARE PERMANENT STAINS IN PLACES ON THE CARPET. THE MAJORITY OF FURNITURE IS ROUGH AROUND THE EDGES AND REPURPOSED. OUR GOAL IS TO OFFER AN AFFORDABLE EXPERIENCE IN A SPACE THAT CAN BE TREATED AS A "CLUBHOUSE".

PARKING
Directly across the street in the city parking lot. Make sure to pay again by at 8:00 am the following day. THERE IS AN ADDITIONAL CITY LOT OFF OF CEDAR STREET THAT OFFERS PARKING FOR MULTIPLE DAYS.


THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Right outside the door is a plentiful array of movie theaters, shopping, restaurants, nightclubs, natural food stores, vintage shops and more.
Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is a short bike ride or walk. Roaring Camp Railroad to Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park is adjacent to The Boardwalk. Surfing, hiking, wine tasting up Highway 1 in Bonnie Doon and The Mystery Spot are fantastic daytime excursions.

We LOVE downtown Santa Cruz! The farmers market is directly across the street every Wednesday afternoon along with a fantastic flea market the second Sunday of every month. The music venues at the Catalyst, Moe's Alley and Kuumbwa Jazz Center are legendary and diverse. The studio is 1/2 block off of Pacific Garden Mall the main street of this town and it is alive with movie theaters, shops, food, wine bars and street music galore. The Beach Boardwalk is 1 mile away with world class surfing all along the coast.
