Hluti upplýsinganna var þýddur sjálfkrafa.
This charming little apartment is on the upper floor of a small-town historic home (separate entrance & apartment), tucked away yet close to everything.
Quiet and cosy, a 3-5 min walk to cafés, restaurants, trails, bars, shops, independent movie theatre(!), galleries, & grocery (+farmers market, bakeries, & specialty). 1-min walk to the iconic and serene waterfowl park; don’t miss walking the beautiful boardwalks through birches and birds! Close walking distance to Mount Allison University.

Eignin
The self-contained 2nd-floor suite has a full kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and separate entrance.

There isn't a living room, but a loveseat and small table with chairs are in the kitchen area for lounging, and Netflix in the bedroom. Furnished with books, art, cozy decor, wifi, and games, there is plenty to do inside. However, you couldn't be better situated to walk to everything to see and do in our small town.
A pantry holds extra towels, blankets, linens, an iron & ironing board, hairdryer (now in bathroom cupboard), and more. Also supplied are basic toiletries, a microwave, stove, full refrigerator, kettle, toaster, coffee press, coffee, tea, olive oil, balsamic, butter, often (but not always) fresh eggs from our chickens... if you're wondering what else, please just ask!
Please note that this second-floor apartment is accessed by a fairly steep interior stairway.

MOBILITY/BULKYBAGGAGE/BABY/PETS: I'm open to you bringing a baby, pet, bulky baggage, or your "bad knees", but also want the apartment to be a good fit for you. Where the apartment may fall short is that it is small and its flight of stairs narrow and steep.
That said, many with any above have been very happy with their stay. It really depends on the person!
I have a pet cat Petri downstairs, in a separate part of the house from the apartment. Please let me know (preferably before your arrival) if you are not exactly a cat person or are allergic, as otherwise you may encounter this friendly guy in your entry/stairway or pawing at your apartment door attempting a visit.

**COVID-19 precautions: Cleanliness has always been a priority, but I have been especially careful to open windows between stays, and use disinfectant. As always, bedding and towels are washed with extras kept in a pantry along with additional cleaning supplies for the comfort of guests. Basic toiletries such as hand soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner are provided. Floors are cleaned as usual with vacuuming and mopping but are of a vintage that they still may appear scuffed and worn.

Staðsetning

Sackville, New Brunswick, Kanada

Tucked away in a quiet corner of a vibrant downtown with small university town charm. So many unique and independently owned businesses are just a three-minute walk down the street. Only one minute from your door, you are stepping into our beautiful waterfowl park in the middle of town.

The street, Weldon, parallels the NB Trail, and there are several nearby parks, including one at the foot of the street.
Daytrips are almost limitless from the heart of the heart of the Maritimes. I encourage you to explore and ask me questions. Sackville is a 30 min drive from the Dieppe (Moncton) airport, 40 mins from Parlee Beach/Cap Pele, 40 mins from the bridge to PEI, just over an hour to Hopewell Rocks, and about a 2 hour drove from Halifax.

I have created a digital guidebook of my recommendations, that you should have access to through your Airbnb booking. I will also have a physical binder of information at the apartment.

Some highlights: ++All is a 3-5min walk down Weldon, on Bridge, or near the intersection of Bridge & Main, unless otherwise noted++

// EATS & DRINKS \\
CRANEWOOD BAKERY & CAFE: Great bread, spreads, soups, nice lunches, and coffee. I love the double ginger cookies. 5 min walk (take the shortcut path next to Scotiabank).
FENER's PLACE: Kurdish Cuisine, so good! 4 min walk.

BLACK DUCK/QUALITY GROCERY/OYSTERHEAD:
Two dynamic spaces at 19 & 21 Bridge St from the "Black Duck" duo merge, morph, and undulate between cafe, bistro, speciality grocer, bakery, tavern, and who knows? It is best you go check it out in person because whatever it is, it is always good. 4 min walk.
SONG's Chopsticks: bibimbap, japache, tomyum noodle soup, bulgogi, sushi, lunch special, nice casual dinner. So satisfying!. 3-4 min walk.
AIDA'S CAFE: Coffee, Macarons, Sandwiches. Tasty.
DUCKY'S Pub: Beers (great local microbrew draught selection incl cider) - great seasonal patio shared with Feners. 4 min walk.
BAGTOWN BREWING COMPANY: Boozy Market beers and ciders to go, or stay for a pint in their great taphouse with sweet patio picnic tables. Trivia night is popular.
MEL'S Tea Room Ltd: *UNDER RENO* Diner--the perfect cheeseburger, diner breakfasts, milkshakes, jukebox, speciality burgers, hot turkey sandwiches. 4 min walk.

BISTRO CHAT BLEU: This one is out of town, but not so far (22 min drive) and worth it for a special dinner. The atmosphere & food is amazing.
THE WILD CARAWAY: further, and seasonal, but the best day trip meal you could hope for, paired with waterfall chasing, hiking, kayaking, and driftwood beach visits. Ask for details!
PORTLANDER JAMAICAN RESTAURANT or ART of EATING Deli: If you find yourself in the nearby town of Amherst at lunchtime (PJR is WED_FRI only) Also, ABSTRACT COFFEE there is great but limited hours.

// OTHER \\
VOGUE MOVIE THEATRE: a beautiful little old independent movie theatre, I especially love the Sackville Film Society movies, Thursday nights during the school year. 4 min walk.
WATERFOWL PARK: walk the boardwalks through the birches (just around the corner down Morgan). A must if you are into serene walks, jogs, wildlife, photo ops, being followed around by curious muskrats... 1 min walk.
GALLERIES: [check ahead for status] Struts, Fog Forest (3 min walk) the Owens (12 min walk)
LIVE BAIT THEATRE: check to see if there is a production during your stay
CATTAIL RIDGE: Local grocery items, pet items, across the highway--this one is only semi-close, but I like it.
MORE SHOPPING: Hounds of Vintage, Tidewater Books, Blooms, Rags of Time (2nd-hand books), Sackville Independent Grocer (regular grocery), Cackling Goose (gluten-free grocery/bakery/coffee), Jean Coutu Pharmacy... all within a 5-10 min walk.

I love the Airbnb experience, both travelling and hosting!
As a host, I am happy to share helpful tips to make the most of your trip.
As a traveller, I often plan my own trips around good food, cycling, hiking, and hot springs, savouring good coffee food and spirits. So far my favourite destinations have been Croatia and Japan, but a spontaneous trip to Puerto Rico in early 2017 was incredible!
I work as a Cartographer/Geographic Information Systems Analyst and have a son in university. My hometown is Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, but I now feel equally enamoured with where I live: Sackville, New Brunswick.
