Culhawk House is an architect designed converted and extended stone bothy, located in a fine rural setting on the hillside at Over Ascreavie farm steading, on a private estate. It lies at the gateway to Glen Isla, adjacent to Glen Prosen and Glen Clova, but is approximately 5 miles from the major town of Kirriemuir, famous for being the home of Peter Pan.
The house sits in an elevated south facing generous plot, with far reaching views of the Glen and open countryside.

Eignin
All on one level, the spacious hallway leads to a large open plan living/dining room with a wood burning stove as a focal feature. The bright triple aspect kitchen has a range cooker and dishwasher, large upright fridge freezer, and adjacent spacious utility room. 2 bedrooms (Superking with ensuite, double with 'Jack n Jill', both have baths/showers) and a further cloakroom/wc. There is also a study off the welcoming hallway. (BEDROOM 3 IS LOCKED/NOT IN USE)
The house has under floor heating throughout - it remains at an ambient temperature 24/7, so you should stay cosy morning and night! A small burn runs through the garden, and views to Culhawk Hill and surrounding fields can be enjoyed, with parking for 2 cars on site.
You approach the house from a rising farm track, and immediately behind the steading lies a further track leading to glorious unspoiled hill land, with stunning views to Cat Law, the Pearsie estate and down to Auld Allan - that in turn leads to Balintore Castle.
The wildlife here include deer, birds of prey, red squirrel, all the game birds, hares and stoats - there are even local beavers at the nearby village of Kingoldrum.
No smokers please, and a maximum of 2 dogs are welcome, but strictly not on the furniture! Please sleep your dog/s in the utility room (a large dog bed is provided).
Please also keep you dog under control at all times on the steading - fields will have livestock in the summer months. The hill behind the house is also used for Pheasant shoots and occasional Deer stalking, and sometimes there are sheep or cattle up there, so it is essential you keep your dog/s under control on leads and observe any notices displayed.
No party usage please, and no smoking.
Please note - mobile phone signal is very poor for most phone providers when in the house (in the garden and on other areas of the steading the signal can be stronger, some smartphones may get Wifi phone signal), Wifi is BT broadband, but the speed is not great! as we are in a fairly remote area, so you may find heavy use like live streaming etc is slow.

Aðgengi gesta
Email me to arrange the key handover please.
The garden is fully fenced and dog proof, and you can access a variety of walks from the immediate steading location.

Annað til að hafa í huga
Your nearest golf course is Kirriemuir, but you are really spoiled for choice here! as numerous golf courses can be found in all directions.
There is a microwave in the utility room, and cafetiere coffee pot in the kitchen.
You can buy fresh eggs from our neighbours at the Farmhouse on the other side of the steading - 2 minutes walk away.....

Love the outdoor life in the Glen with our two Dalmatians! Also have a love of Greece, music and singing. I really hope guests fall in love with this house, and the wonderful countryside and scenery of Over Ascreavie.
