HIDEAWAY TIME IN THE FOREST LODGE CABINS

Haven’t you always wanted to stay in a treehouse? Now is your opportunity to stay in one of the secluded, self-contained Forest Lodge Cabins, 3 metres up in the canopy of the magical indigenous forest. There are only 2 cabins, some distance from each other with a private walkway, so the tranquillity and privacy are incredible. The only sounds you will hear will be of the Narina Trogon calling through the forest or the Bushbaby's haunting cry at night.

Kurisa Moya Nature Lodge was started by six young and innovative people sharing a dream and an inspired vision for the future of this magical place. The de Boer siblings, Ant, Jacky and Ben, along with their spouses, Sue, Badger and Lisa bought the property in 1999 after a long ‘wish-list’ was realised in this beautiful piece of land, discovered serendipitously after seeing a small, hand-painted FOR SALE sign on the gate. These six people put their energy and unique talents into renovating and developing the Farmhouse and trails, with the help of enthusiastic friends and family members. Lisa Martus and Ben de Boer moved to Kurisa Moya Nature Lodge in 2001 and opened the doors to the Farmhouse for eco-tourism. Since then Kurisa Moya has been developed into one of the finest nature and birding destinations in the country and one of the top Eco-lodges in the world, with the hard work of the Ramoraswi family and South Africa’s top Bird Guide, David Letsoalo. OUR VISION: Kurisa Moya has a long history of families who have a deep and committed love of the land. Currently owned by a family, bought off the back of an inspired dream, the farm will be in caring hands for generations to come. Originally discovered by woodcutters, the property was then owned by Sir Lionel Phillips and Florence. Through the many generations of families that have been custodians of this land, one thing remains clear, that the forests, the rivers and mountains of this magical and mystical farm have been and will continue to be protected and nurtured. The vision of the current owners of Kurisa Moya is to provide an opportunity for people to enjoy the unique beauty Kurisa Moya has to offer; to remain in awe and respect nature and to develop Kurisa Moya to its fullest potential in terms of lodges, retreats, workshops, hiking and birding without sacrificing the wild beauty of the place. Kurisa Moya is for the discerning traveller and as such is a destination of choice and a place for lovers of nature ... a sanctuary to escape to from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Kurisa Moya has been discovered and loved by any and all who need a retreat and who enjoy time away from the stresses of everyday life.
