Sundlaug
Þetta er einn fárra staða á þessu svæði sem er með þennan eiginleika.
Our cabin is on the edge of a peaceful woodland park, within easy reach of fantastic beaches and countryside in the Pembrokeshire National Park. The Scandinavian-designed cabin is cosy and quiet, with 60s inspired decor. There is a snug double bedroom and a small bedroom with full size bunkbeds, a lounge, dining room, deck and a proper bathroom and kitchen. On the park there is a playground, dog-walking field and a shop, bar and swimming pool (open May to September). There is pay per use Wifi.

Eignin
Stuff to bring
50p coins for electricity meter. We leave a stash there, but best to come prepared! It's about £1.50 per day.
Swimming stuff in summer, plus something to walk to and from the pool – there are no changing facilities there.
Bed linen and towels.
Jumpers/slippers: the cabin is blissfully cool and shady, but can get chilly (but there is heating)
Waterproofs: it's west Wales.
Wellies: ditto, especially if you want to use the dog walk on site.

Aðgengi gesta
The cabin is located at Penlan holiday village (SA38 9JN, (URL HIDDEN) Cenarth, Carmathenshire. The postcode will take most sat navs to the vicinity, and then the park is signposted with a green sign off the B4332.

The Cabin
There's a double bedroom, a cosy bunk room with two beds (the bottom bunk is like sleeping in an old ship and is very cosy), lounge, kitchen, dining room and bathroom. Plenty of space for camp beds in lounge and dining room if needed.
There’s a deck with seating, and you can set up a hammock to catch the evening sun (it’s stored in the TV unit cupboard, string it between the pillars). Please put the coloured chairs back inside when you leave to prevent them getting blown away! There’s a BBQ on the deck; charcoal can be obtained at the Nisa shop in Cenarth, or you can get Pembrokeshire environmentally friendly charcoal at the National Park shop in Newport, adjacent to the public car park.

When you first arrive, you'll need to feed the electricity meter and turn the fridge on: the meter takes 50p coins and is in the narrow cupboard under the microwave in the kitchen. To turn the fridge on, just turn the dial inside the door to about 3, it should be plugged in. The water heater is in the bunk room, switch this on at the wall for hot water taps. Power switches for the cooker and microwave are behind the microwave. To the right of the microwave you'll also find power switches for the shower and hot water. There's good phone reception (enough for data on some networks), and the site has (pay per use) wifi available.
Lounge
There's a TV, Playstation (also a DVD player) and digital radio. For sound, switch on the amp on the floor and use the small knob to select a source (tuner for radio, video 1 for TV). There is an HDMI cable if you want to plug in a laptop/tablet to supplement the few DVDs in the cupboard. You can plug in your phone/MP3 player using the cable provided, and select the correct source on the amp. The clock is wind-up, set and wind if you don't mind ticking! The electric fire is a fan heater – switch it on at the wall and then use the switches on top. Note that it can operate in naff light only mode, so make sure you select a power option if you want heat.
Bathroom
Switches for the extractor fan and heater are on the kitchen wall outside the bathroom. Once you've switched on the shower (switch next to the microwave), just switch on.
Bedrooms
There are pillows, duvets and blankets, but do bring bed linen (normal size double and two singles as required). The top bunk does not have guardrails and as such is not suitable for small children. The heaters in the bedrooms are very effective and do have thermostats, but best not to leave them on unattended. There are small mobile radiators which can be left on (as long as they are not covered), one in the main room, and one smaller in the bunk room wardrobe. If you want to bring a travel cot it might fit in the bunk room, but if not then there's plenty of space in the dining room which is divided off from the main living space by a thick curtain.
Kitchen
Should have everything you need, including fridge, oven and hob. Let us know if there's anything missing.
If you need to do any washing, there's a coin operated laundry by the office (£3 per wash, £1 dryer, pound coins). There are large red rubbish bins on site, and recycling bins by the swimming pool.
On the site
Laundry, small shop, heated outdoor pool, bar serving basic food, playground and games field, dog walking area. The pool, bar and shop are seasonal (May-September), but there are staff on site all year round if you need anything.
People with kids: the playground is great. People without kids: the playground is sufficiently far from the cabin.

When you leave
Please take out all your rubbish and recycling, turn off the fridge and leave it open, turn off the water heater and cooker and leave the cabin clean and tidy for the next guests.

Cenarth, Wales, Bretland

In the local area
Cenarth
Lovely village with spectacular waterfalls and fabled salmon leap. Coracle museum, tea rooms, two pubs.
It's only a mile away, but the walk along the main road is not safe. There's free parking just before the bridge and opposite the campsite. If you park right by the falls you may be accosted by a man in yellow jacket seeking payment. The Nisa shop at the local garage (just over the bridge) is good and open decent hours, plus it has an excellent selection of local beers. There are natural swimming pools in the river, but best to swim below the falls and do take care.
Abercych
Tiny village in the other direction. Nags Head pub is lovely and has excellent food. Some nice walks from here, also glass recycling in the public car park.

Beaches
Mwnt is about 10 minutes drive. Spectacular NT beach (NT parking) down a flight of steps. No dogs on the beach in summer but good walks around there still with furry friends. Good for swimming.
Aberporth is about 15 minutes away, £3 honesty box car park. Kayaks for hire, lifeguards, dogs allowed on one side in summer. Buggy and wheelchair friendly section of coast path towards Tresaith, which is a family friendly beach with lifeguards (no dogs on the beach in summer).
Poppit Sands is the mouth of the Teifi River, about 20 minutes away through cardigan. Enormous beach, £3 car parking in summer, although free parking on road and by the pub. Dogs allowed on eastern half in summer, and masses of space to run around.
Loads and loads of others within half hour drive!
Walking
Nice local walks along River Teifi from Cenarth and River Cych from Abercych.
Many sections of Pembrokeshire coast path accessible within 20 minute drive. With planning (relevant maps available in the cabin), you can do some nice circular sections, or use infrequent yet reliable buses to join sections together. Check websites for details (URL HIDDEN) or
(URL HIDDEN)
Other suggestions:
Dinas Head: circular headland walk along coastal path, completed by wheelchair and buggy friendly section between Pwll Gwaelod and Cwm Yr Eglywys. Parking and beaches at either end, but Pwll Gwaelod has a bigger car park and a pub.
Golden Road: 7 mile walk along ancient route to Ireland. Lots of tors and ancient stuff, including reputed burial place of King Arthur. Park outside Crymych and head up to Foeldragon and Carn Meini for great
views. On Tuesdays and Thursdays you can do the whole walk to finish in Rosebush and get a bus back to the car park. Only one per day, so check the times on Ceredigion council website! Historic tin pub (Tafarn Sinc) at Rosebush does hearty if basic food while you wait for the bus (no dogs inside).
Carn Ingli: periglacial tor with fine views behind Newport.
Cwm Gwaun: beautiful valley (former subglacial channel complex) with peaceful walks.
Further afield
St Davids: beautiful cathedral, many pubs, tat shops galore.

Newgale: water sports mecca
Porthgain: historic harbour, great seafood restaurant (The Shed)
Llansteffan: expansive beach close to Carmarthen, good castle
Laugharne: Dylan Thomas’ writing shed, south of Carmarthen
