    Like the primary host, every co-host must meet our quality standards. Once you’re invited to host or manage an experience, you’ll need to submit ID verification to confirm you’re really you.

    Both co-hosts and assistants will also need to review and attest to the Additional Terms for Experience hosts and acknowledge Airbnb’s quality standards.

    Participating in technically-specialized activities

    If you’re a co-host and you’re participating in any technically-specialized (ex: driving, boating, or flying), you’ll receive an email from a company called Evident to verify that you’re qualified for hosting these activities.

    Evident is an external company that verifies license and insurance documents for experiences involving high-risk activities. If you receive an email from Evident, you’ll need to submit the license and/or proof of insurance to be able to co-host.

    The primary host is in control of the experience offered, but it’s also your responsibility to follow laws and regulations. Neither Evident nor Airbnb can check that your experience complies with your local laws, so be sure you’re up-to-date.

    Airbnb Experience Protection Insurance program

    Most experiences and co-hosts are covered by Airbnb’s EPI program, which provides coverage against liability claims up to $1,000,000 USD in the rare event a guest suffers bodily injury or property damage during your experience. If you co-host technically-specialized experiences, you’ll have to provide your own insurance, and for a very narrow set of experience hosts, you’re required to provide proof of your own insurance for a specific amount of coverage (up to $1,000,000 USD).

    Verifying your ID

    If you didn’t pass verification, it means your documents didn’t meet the standards that Evident and Airbnb require. You could have either submitted the wrong license or insurance, or your license or insurance were expired. It’s also possible that Evident was unable to process your documents. If this is the case, they’ll reach out to you with a chance to re-submit your information once more.
