The Craft Beer Revolution & Tasting Tour
Vancouver has a huge craft beer scene and is considered the best in Canada! Join me on a neighbourhood culture crawl among Vancouver's most interesting local breweries. Learn about the craft beer movement and the culture that surrounds it while enjoying beer tastings only available in Vancouver. We'll start with unique access to a historic local brewery to see, smell, taste and learn the basics of 4 seemingly simple ingredients that create over 100+ distinct styles of beer in the world. We'll enjoy a hand crafted beer recipe that is exactly what beer tasted like centuries ago. As we enjoy a light walk downhill to visit 2 other very different breweries in the neighbourhood, I'll explain how the craft beer subculture was recently revived and why it's quickly gaining in popularity. Our beer tastings will include stories of popular American craft beers styles of today - many of the beers we taste are small batch, meaning they're only available in the breweries we visit. No doubt we'll likely get into some healthy banter over which ones are the best. Whether you’re brand new craft beer or a veteran, you’re sure to enjoy these very local and very tasty beverages and meeting the people who make it.
Stawamus Chief Hike & Photography
We'll drive from downtown Vancouver on the scenic Sea-to-Sky Highway to Squamish. The 6 hour tour includes pick up and drop off, a 2 hour return drive, a steep 3 hour, 11km return, 600meters elevation hike, with an hour break at the top. Beautiful waterfalls, rugged forests and rock faces lead the way to a spectacular viewpoint of mountains and the ocean. We'll also stop at the end at Shannon Falls, BC's second largest waterfall. This is not a beginner's hike (there are easier ones I organize) and you need to be in great shape. However, we'll pace ourselves based on your ability with plenty of breaks for photos. As an outdoors guide with 20+ years of experience leading hikes, I will show you how to hike safely. As a photographer I'll not only take beautiful photos of your memories, but also teach you landscape photography regardless of whether you carry a smartphone or DSLR. Details on what to wear and bring along for the tour will be provided.
Cypress Mountain Hike & Photography
We'll spend a few hours hiking through old-growth forests and amazing ocean view lookouts in this intermediate hike. The tour includes return transportation from your accommodation, stopping at the Cypress mountain lookout of the city, a 3 hour minimal elevation hike, photography lessons/tips and complimentary photos. Hiking poles (optional) can be borrowed. As an outdoors guide with 20+ years of experience leading hikes, I will show you how to snowshoe safely, following your own pace if needed. As a photographer I'll not only take beautiful photos of your memories, but also teach you landscape photography regardless of whether you carry a smartphone or DSLR.
