We'll work with organic nut-free, gluten-free, milk-free, dark chocolate (yes, that means vegan). This course lasts about 3 hours.

– We start by talking a bit about tempering & chocolate chemistry.
– Then you make your own inclusion bars and solid confectionery, and we discuss a bit of history and how the processes to make chocolate have evolved. Be ready to get your hands and clothes covered in chocolate (even if you have an apron). You'll be able to select 20 different toppings and spices and you'll experiment with flavor combinations that (hopefully) you haven't tried before.
– While we wait for the chocolate to set, we'll have a tasting profile where you'll guess different quantities of cacao on each chocolate type, and we'll talk about processes for fermentation and other fun facts.

This course is human-friendly! That means I welcome the LGBTQ+ community, all religions, ethnics groups, ages and whatever makes you human (doggos are also allowed with previous notification). It's great for couples or small groups who want to do something personal together. Equally fun for large groups who want to make a lot of chocolate together!

I'm Angelica, a Mexican living in Norway. Through my work, I try to teach others about cacao, chocolate and traditional ways of eating and making chocolate which usually are different (and healthier) than the way chocolate is consumed in Europe. I also source ethical ingredients from Latin America and I carefully select materials to make sure people get exactly what they want and can get the perfect chocolate, from scratch. I have studied chocolate for almost 10 years, have given over 300 course. I started my mini chocolate factory in Oslo in 2016, called CacaoLand, and I've created this experience since many have asked me to give courses to learn how to make truffles, bars, and other chocolate creations in a professional way.

Staðsetning

The course can be taken here or at your place upon request.

It includes about 350gr of chocolate per person of self-made hard confectionary (without liquid filling) and you take home all the chocolate you make!

We stay in the same room the majority of the course, but we'll shuffle things around a bit since we need a stove, a fridge and a table.

People with different motor and cognitive difficulties or limitations are welcome!

A really special activity to do in Oslo! Angelica is very passionate about chocolate and loves what she’s doing! We felt lucky to be a part of this magic and used our creativity to make unique bars of chocolate. We also learned a lot about history and what makes a good chocolate. Great team building activity! Had a lot of fun and recommend to everyone who enjoys learning new things and breaking up the routine :)

Dette var flott og lærerik historie om sjokoladen, dens opprinnelse og historie samt utvikling. Vi fikk lage sjokolade med våre egne smakstilsetninger og fikk nyttige tips om tilberedelse, ingredienser og produksjonsmåte. What a fantastic experience! If you're a fan of chocolate, and are at all curious about how chocolate is made, and in how it would feel like to make it yourself, then you need to take this class! I was the only person to sign up for this particular day and time, so we had a 1 on 1 session for three hours, and I learned so much, more than I ever imagined, about the history of chocolate, it's origins, the differences in style between countries, how the different chemicals in chocolate mix and react, etc. She provides all the materials necessary to make chocolate bars yourself, and she provides various fruits and nuts and other ingredients for you to include in your chocolate bars. She was a wonderful host who shared many interesting stories and anecdotes about her experiences with chocolate, and kept the discussion lively and informative. All in all a completely worthwhile experience.

The experience was very educational and informative. Angelica gave a mind blowing insight on the history of the cocoa and chocolate making. I especially felt she did a great job on explaining the health value of chocolate and how to be a chocolate connoisseur. The best part is the chocolate making. The chocolates were made from scratch and I was able to save them to give to friends as souvenirs. If you enjoy chocolate and want to learn the deep history of chocolate, I would highly recommend.

Angelica was an immensely knowledgeable host that has a vast knowledge of chocolate both its origins and the art of crafting the chocolate! The different types of chocolate and add-ins were fantastic and left allot of creativity up to you! Truly an experience worth having and really an exceptional time with a great host!

Wow! What an absolute pleasure to spend my afternoon learning all about chocolate, whilst also making my own yummy creations to take away. I learned so much, and I will most definitely be thinking differently next time I go to pick up a chocolate bar from a supermarket. If you’re unsure on what to do when in Oslo, and fancy a few hours away doing something a little different, then definitely book in to do this, you won’t regret it! Angelica is amazing, so knowledgable, and made the experience what it was. I couldn’t recommend this higher!
