Það sem verður gert

A long time ago, in a city far, far away there was a town, boastfully established by the mighty Vikings, called Oslo. People were fair, they ate nothing but fish and sang from the fjord tops… okay, maybe there were other things too. Jump forward to the 1600s, and fire sweeps through most of the city. Jump forward again, this time to the 2000s and what was once the town centre of Oslo is now Gamle Oslo, or “Old Oslo.” Today the city has been moved, and you find yourself outside the Nobel Peace Center, looking at the boats that come in and out of the harbour.

We’ll walk along the main pedestrian street, Karl Johans Gate, just like Norwegians do on May 17th (Constitution Day); we’ll give a salute to the great Norwegian scriptwriters at the National Theatre; and appreciate the power and force of the fortifications at Akershus Fortress, not to mention the fantastic view!

We hit the hot spots of Oslo, as the excitement crescendos to reveal the creme de la creme: the view of the Oslo Opera House. Appearing to rise out of the fjord majestically, the Opera House leads the way in an age of exciting new design. Oslo is thriving - you can feel the enthusiasm in the air. It’s THE place to be
Other things to note
Please be at the departure point, Nobel Peace Center, outside the entrance - located at Brynjulf Bulls plass 1, 10 minutes early to check-in for your tour.

I'm the founder of OURWAY Tours, specialising guided tours within Scandinavia. I started in Stockholm, 2011, as a qualified guide with the question: What do people enjoy when they travel? The answer we found, is to: "Meet the people, try the food, live the stories" and so that's what we do. In 2016 we felt enough guests had asked us if we did tours anywhere else to make the decision to expand to Oslo & Copenhagen.

Our team of handpicked locals, trained to take tours, want nothing more than to share their love for the city with you.

In short, we give you "people, places, and culture—the local way".

Staðsetning

This is a walk of Oslo's city centre including stories of its hot spots, history, famous Norwegians and tales of the past. We will make multiple stops throughout the city centre and mix general stops with visits to sites that are often difficult to find or overlooked by visitors. The route of the tour might vary depending on who it's with and what the interest of the guests are.

Craig was an excellent and knowledgeable guide, but also was very interested in us as travellers too, which was nice. I also liked how he incorporated some of his personal experiences too.

Was a nice way to get to know the basic history of Oslo. I liked that Craig was an English man, meaning he knew what a foreigner would be interested in.

This is a must-do for anyone experiencing Oslo for the first time! Tour guide Craig was great — he shared fun information and spurred ideas for additional stops in Oslo that I would not otherwise have found! Thank you!

Marc was an excellent guide. He not only shared with us the history of Oslo but helped us with information on how to get places that we couldn’t reach on the tour and when to visit them! A great tour, would definitely recommend to anyone.

Craig, our host, was awesome. He was knowledgeable and funny. I quite enjoyed the way he presented the information to the group. Having already had a day in Oslo, he knew I had some information that I could share with the group.

Ryan was our tour guide today. We had a great time taking in the beautiful sights of Oslo and we learned many interesting facts about Oslo’s history. We would highly recommend this experience.
