We will meet at McCarren Park Track on the border of Greenpoint/Williamsburg in Brooklyn. This is mile 12 of the NYC Marathon. I will go over running safety in the city. Depending on traffic we may side track in a few places where I feel a safer detour is necessary. After a light stretch we’ll take the marathon route through north Brooklyn and trendy Greenpoint, stopping at the 13.1 mark and the top of the Pulaski Bridge. We'll admire the view of Manhattan while taking a brief rest. Onward into Queens along the beautiful Long Island City waterfront, past the famous Pepsi Cola sign, then along Vernon Blvd to a nice and shady bike/pedestrian path leading to the 59th St. Bridge (mile 15 of the marathon course). The mile long bridge is a steady incline for 2/3 of the span. We will rest at the top so I can explain where we are in the city and in the marathon. We then come off the bridge onto 60th St (mile 16) and head west toward Central Park. We will pick up the marathon route again at Central Park South (mile 25.2) and run the last mile to the marathon finish line. The actual line is only up during the marathon but you can imagine the excitement!
Other things to note

Four time NYC Marathon participant and local running enthusiast! Living in Brooklyn for 20+ years. I've been running through Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan as part of my own training routine since 2012. I will take my guests on a relaxed 10k run covering the middle miles of the NYC marathon route, stopping every 1- 1.5 miles or so at interesting points on the course. Lots of photo opportunities, stopping as often as you like. We will run over two bridges and touch down in three boroughs, finishing in Central Park where the NYC marathon finish line is marked. Depending on weather, I may ask you to adjust your availability and suggest an alternate day with more favorable weather. We will not run in temperatures/wind chill below freezing or in rain.

Beautiful McCarren Park, trendy Greenpoint, Pulaski Bridge, views of Manhattan, Long Island City waterfront and piers, Pepsi Cola sign Queensboro (59th St) Bridge crossing over the East River and Roosevelt Island, Plaza Hotel and along Central Park South to Columbus Circle, into south west corner of Central Park. I will alert you when restrooms and water fountains are available. I will describe how it feels to run these miles during the marathon

Jeanne was so amazing! Communication was fantastic and she arrived early to the location. Beyond knowledgeable and personable, she is the perfect person to show you around and burn some calories in the process. She is amazingly adaptable to individual needs! Highly recommend. ❤️

This was a really fun way to see the city and explore areas whilst having an interactive element as running. Jeanne was wonderfully friendly and good conversation all the way along the route. Even on a cold December morning this was still enjoyed.

I had a great time running through Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan with Jeanne. As a foreigner it would not have been possible to find the route and Jeanne showed me many nice places and sights on the way. It felt like being a local and was a fantastic way to get to known the city.

Running along New York's East river, with a view on the Manhatten skyline, is magical. And Jeanne knows exactly where to run and tells you some background stories. Running with Jeanne was a great experience. Highly recommendable.
