Það sem verður gert

We have six adorable alpacas for you to meet and spend time with. They are all extremely cute and lovable and you will be smiling long after the experience has finished.
Our Alpaca Experience involves walking into the field where the alpacas graze and helping us to herd them into their field shelter. We will then put on their halters and after a brief safety talk you will get introduced to them and learn their names and personalities. You will then have the opportunity to pet them, feed them and of course take photos.
Depending on the weather we may then go for a short amble around the fields on our farm or we might just spend a bit longer in their field shelter before saying goodbye and heading down to the farmhouse for tea/coffee and homemade cake.
The whole experience takes around 2 hours.

My husband Bez is the 3rd generation to have farmed here at Stoop Farm and we have been married for 30 years so I have lived here a long time also. We farm over 600 sheep and early in 2019 we decided to buy 4 alpacas to offer a walking experience for visitors. Since then we have bought a further 2, so we now have 6 beautiful alpacas. We also run a small luxury farmhouse B&B if you are looking for a special place to stay. Our farm is in a beautiful and peaceful location in the Peak District National Park and meeting the alpacas here is a truly wonderful experience.

Despite the rainy weather, me and my friend had an amazing time! The experience felt personal and got loads of time with the alpacas and learning about them. The cake at the end was also delicious! :)

I decided to come to peak district for my husband birthday treat. I was looking at different things for us to do, this popped up and I'm so glad I booked it, it was something totally different, we loved it. Our host (sorry I cannot remember her name) was lovely and gave us an insight to each alpaca and their different personalities. My husband is a photographer so enjoyed snapping away these interesting animals. The weather was windy but stayed dry atleast- once we got going they really enjoyed their walk - think they enjoyed the food at the end more! We were allowed to hand feed them which was nice. Afterwards we went into the warm and had tea and cake, met some lovely people on our walk too. Great value for money and would 100% recommend this is on your to-do-list whilst in the peaks - you won't be disappointed 😊

So much fun! Alpacas are the most characterful, mesmerising animals and it was a privilege to get to hang out with them for a while, in the most stunningly beautiful surroundings. These alpacas are also obviously extremely well cared for and happy. Such an enjoyable and informative experience would recommend to anyone. Lovely tea and cake in the cosy farmhouse afterwards too, and Karen was kind enough to adapt the cake to meet dietary requirements

Such a fun and unique experience! Susi was really great, very friendly and even gave us a lift to and from the farm which was greatly appreciated! The alpacas were such characters and super cute. We lucked out with the weather and the scenery was spectacular. The vegan cake and tea at the end was lovely and it was really appreciated that they had accommodated for the nut and dairy allergy in our group. I would say plan your day for the experience to take a couple of hours rather than the hour time slot listed as we were there about 2 and a half hours. Would definitely recommend!

Great experience and would 100% recommend. The location at the top of the hill is stunning and the alpacas are super cute! The cake and tea/coffee was a nice touch too.

This was my first experience of walking with alpacas. Unfortunately our holiday coincided with Storm Denis and the weather was awful but the host, Karen, contacted us ahead of the day of our booking to adjust the time of our experience to better suit the weather forecast which turned out to be a good decision and was much appreciated. Stoop Farm is in an isolated location in the Peak District. Despite this, it was easily reached with online mapping software and the road to the farm is well-maintained. The scenery around Stoop Farm is one of two things which really made this alpaca walking experience so enjoyable despite us attending on a day when the weather was awful. The hills are nothing short of breath-taking. The other element of what really made this experience stand out was our walk host, Sue. Sue was warm, friendly, patient and showed deep knowledge and love of the alpacas. The manner in which she quickly made everyone present feel comfortable and the respect and love she so obviously feels for the animals were wonderful. Thanks to Sue I felt like I really got to know the four boys currently cared for at Stoop Farm and their distinct personalities. By the end of our experience Sue felt like a friend. She also took some really fantastic individual and group photos of everyone to treasure afterwards. After walking the alpacas we had some very welcome tea and cake in a lovely room overlooking the hills. I would highly recommend Stoop Farm to anyone considering an alpaca experience in the Peak District area and would definitely return to meet the two new alpacas who will soon be joining the farm.
