My own backyard is perfect for creating your kokedamas. We will get our hands dirty in my rustic and Italian inspired backyard amidst the grapevines and natural lighting. We will first talk about the fascinating history of kokedamas, as well as how it is related to Japanese customs and the philosophy of wabi sabi. Then, I will show you how to make your first kokedama. Each person will have their own station to create two of their own, that will eventually be taken home. There will be many plants to choose from, as well as matcha, coffee, tea and music. This is perfect for those who are looking for a romantic and unique date night or an enjoyable night spent with a family member learning a new trade. We have also hosted birthday and bachelorette parties, if you are looking for a special way to celebrate in nature.

I teach the art of making kokedamas - which is Japanese for "moss ball." I have the first kokedama business in Los Angeles and have been making these works of art for five years now. Making kokedamas involves taking a plant and crafting it into a soil ball with peat moss and then wrapping it with sheet moss. Ultimately it becomes a beautiful plant residing in a living, self sustaining pot. I have taught kokedama classes in nurseries around the Los Angeles area and absolutely love teaching people this new skill. I would love to host you in my backyard to show you the art.

You will be experiencing this workshop in the Italian inspired backyard of a local Angelino's home. We will stay here for the entirety of the workshop, fueled by matcha and the desire to learn a new craft.

Topacio has such a beautiful soul! She is a wonderful person and has a great personality! My boyfriend and I really enjoyed making the kokedamas and getting to know a little bit about LA and some dope spots. Would definitely recommend and come back again!
