Welcome to my Aalesund!

I’m Ingrid, a licensed Aalesund guide. Aalesund is a small city with a big personality, immersed in nature and calm enough to smitten visitors with peaceful eloquence. However, there’s more to Aalesund than being Norway’s most beautiful city.
I have lived here most of my life. Since 2014 I’ve taken my passion for revealing Aalesund’s secrets to the streets. Through guided walking tours I help visitors find their Aalesund.
My background in teaching and specialization in entrepreneurship fed my interest in all things local, but I'm also a Viking at heart and love to explore the World in my free time.
I'm excited about sharing my corner with you and answer any questions you might have. The aim of our tour is to set you up with valuable knowledge for the remainder of your stay in Aalesund and the surrounding area.

Staðsetning

The heart of Aalesund town center is situated on the two islands Aspøy and Nørvøy. I will guide you along the inner harbor, towards the area of town that survived the great fire in 1904. We will also walk through the main Art Nouveau areas, where both obvious and more hidden architectural features will reveal themselves to you.

That was interesting few hours with Ingrid. She knew her topic, she’s very friendly and easy going and I learned a lot about Ålesund. I recommend anyone to take a tour of the town with her.

Ingrid knows Alesund inside and out - your really feel this is her hometown and she knows a ton about the city and the area. We walked for three hours and Alesund is now much more familiar, including many details. Definitely recommend Ingrid.

I've truly enjoyed the Alesund city tour with Ingrid from start to finish. I was impressed by Ingrid's knowledge about Alesund and the surrounding area, the personal recommendations she made specifically for my trip and the outstanding hospitality and flexibility she showed during the tour. In my experience, it's a rare occasion when a guide doesn't charge by the clock which shows the passion he/she has in this work (our tour today was overrun by an hour). I truly hope that Ingrid can continue sharing her knowledge and hospitality with all visitors in Alesund and the surrounding area!

Ingrid is friendly and very knowledgeable about her city, the architecture and the lives of the people who have lived here for centuries. Even though it was raining cats and dogs the walk about Ålesund was well worth it. We learned a lot about the city and its history and got to see so many beautiful and interesting buildings. regards Cecilie

We were met by Ingrid on the Harbour front in Alesund, with a smile and a welcome in the pouring rain. That did not deter her from taking us around her hometown and pointing out things we would not have seen or noticed if we had been walking around ourselves. Ingrid took us to places we would never have found, a restored Methodist Chapel which now acted as a refuge / cafe for people in Alesund who wanted or needed somewhere to go and chat about anything, Hazel and I were made to feel most welcome by everyone there. Ingrid took her time to explain the history of Alesund and how the Art Nouveau architecture came about after the fire in the early 20th century, pointing out the different features on the respective buildings. Walking around the inner canal she invited us to try the local "park benches" to our surprise these were warm and heated by hot water - pleasant on a cold day!. What was supposed to have been a 2 hour tour ended up as a 4 hour exploration of her wonderful town / home.
