We ride electric bikes, these are fat-tire RadPower Mini’s, they are accessible for almost all riders. Although the electric motor helps a lot with Seattle’s hills, you do have to pedal. At times, it can be the exercise equivalent of a brisk walk and on other points along the route it’s a pleasant stroll (or you can work as hard as you’d like for a greater aerobic experience.) Cargo bike available upon request--it is set up to take a younger passenger on the back. First stop is at the Olympic Mountains and Sound Viewpoint, here there's a great overview of the waterway and the geology of Seattle. Then a stop along Shilshole Bay either to be welcomed by the Seattle's favorite viking or the Salish people. We continue on the Burke-Gilman Trail to the Ballard Locks. We walk the bikes through the Carl English Garden and view the salmon fish ladder often spotting osprey, herons and seals. Then take the wooden railroad bridge to Fisherman’s Terminal and either over the Fremont Bridge or around Lake Union or down to the West Point Lighthouse and sites in Discovery Park. There are a few options and I like to customize the routes whenever possible.
