- We will consider what makes mindfulness effective and how different approaches can be used.
- Practice micro-mindfulness sessions and a longer meditations.
- Look at how mindfulness connects with other habits and what brings us joy.

There will be plenty of tea and cake - which we will of course enjoy mindfully!!

Mindfulness is the buzz word of the moment. Perhaps you have read a magazine article, perhaps you have tried to practice it… but then find yourself not incorporating mindfulness into your everyday life. Or perhaps you just keep hearing it mentioned but realise you have such a scattered mind that you definitely need the ‘Mindfulness For Dummies’ approach! Here at Starlight Cottage we particularly enjoy teaching mindfulness to both those who have never tried it before and to those who have tried and failed. It really is something everyone can learn and benefit from.

Mindfulness is such a powerful skill to learn and something everyone can do. I am a qualified Positive Psychology practitioner and greatly enjoy using the beautiful natural surroundings of the Cotswolds to help people learn mindfulness and discover how to incorporate it into their daily life.

Staðsetning

Imagine a country cottage approached through a woodland drive and then up a rose lined path. After knocking on a pale blue front door you will be greeted by a cup of tea and homemade cake upon entering a cosy kitchen, with the faint scent of wood-smoke coming from the log burner.

Starlight cottage is a very special place. Situated in the idyllic edge of the Cotswolds, & close to a wonderful network of footpaths, it is surrounded by green fields.

A great experience and as described on Airbnb. Babette was very welcoming and friendly. To start with we had a 1-1 which was really good as it enabled it to be personal and therefore more beneficial for me. I learnt a lot of new skills and very useful information and tips to take away with me. Before arriving here I didn’t know how to meditate and only had limited knowledge of mindfulness. I came away knowing how meditate and have been able to practice this everyday since. I was also able to understand mindfulness and she gave me lots of good tips and knowledge. We then went as a small group to the fields to practice meditating, it was a wonderful experience with the most beautiful views and we saw the sunsetting as well. I believe the route is normally different but not all had appropriate clothing as sent out on Babettes email but it was still a wonderful experience. I learnt loads and saw some amazing views at the same time. I highly recommend this experience. Thank you for everything Babette.

A wonderful location and a very welcoming host, the perfect spot for a retreat from the pace of every day life and to experience mindfulness within a calm environment.

It was wonderful to learn about mindfulness and how to apply it to normal life. Babette made this topic very easy to understand and we practiced some short meditations. However, she also spoke about how it is not only about meditating, but also about an approach to life. We talked about joy, gratitude and being aware of our own emotional states. Babette also does coaching on an individual basis which I will also try.
