You'll learn all about the history, life-cycle, products from the hive, and the daily activities of a colony of bees. Then, after an introduction and description of beekeeping equipment, we'll don our veils and gloves and take a detailed look inside of a hive! We'll see eggs, baby bees, drones, and if we're lucky, the queen! After our deep dive in the hive, you'll have a chance to sample some local, raw, unfiltered honey, and you'll receive our prize-winning lip balm to use and take home with you!

Staðsetning
We'll be at the Shim Protea and Coffee Farm, located on land originally settled by my Chinese great grandparents in the 1880s. It has a spectacular view of Maui and it's conveniently located on the way to Haleakala. This particular area was the Chinatown of Maui, and many of the original families still live in the area, including many of my relatives. My father runs the coffee operation, so you may see some coffee-related activities.

This experience was awesome! We had never done an Airbnb exporter e before this and I was pleasantly surprised. Stuart was very communicative and helpful prior to our experience, and then on the day of was wonderful. He knew it was mine and my husbands honeymoon, and then I shared that I want to raise bees in the future and I felt like he really took his time explaining some of his experiences (some of the good and some of the bad of course). I really feel like in the future I could reach out to Stuart with bee questions and he would be really helpful. Also his home is in a very picturesque spot and in a part of Maui I feel like most tourists don’t get to see. Definitely 5/5!

Great experience. Stuart and Michelle are very knowledgeable and passionate about bees and the special considerations for managing a bee colony. Worthwhile for anyone who wants to know more about bees or wants to build their comfortability with bees.

Stuart and his little helper Michelle were great at conveying interesting information about the bees and equipment before we put on the bee suit and went into the hive.
The location of the experience was very beautiful with a gorgeous view of the ocean.
The bees were a lot more calm than expected and it was not a scary experience. Also being able to wear protective the clothing was great so there was no worry of being stung.
