This tour will take you to enchanting Alfama, one of the oldest districts of Lisbon, and is a delightful maze of narrow cobbled streets and ancient houses, which lead up the steep hill from the Tejo estuary to St. George Castle. We had a very private tour of Alfama which we enjoyed immensely. We were able to ask questions and discuss issues that were of interest to us. Beatrish (don’t know proper spelling of her name) had proven to be a wonderful guide, very knowledgeable regarding history and passionate about other issues. We highly recommend this experience.

We were really lucky. It was only the two of us with the guide but they didn't cancel. It was a private tour around Old Lisbon and it was a great opportunity to ask question about Lisbon throughout the ages. You get a full picture of 1147 to today.

I must say, my wife and I were very glad we went on this walking tour. It was unfortunate we didn’t get to meet Mafalda, but her friend Elena was a spectacular option. “Difficulty” (in quotation marks because her English is GREAT) with English wasn’t an issue because she was having as much fun as we were. The pace was great; not too slow and not too fast either. The tour was exactly as advertised, plus Elena did her best to warn us of problem areas, as well as the best ways to see the sights that weren’t in the tour but in the vicinity. You cannot go wrong booking this tour. I’m sure Mafalda is great, but Elena is a treat! AND we finished off the tour with some ginginha at Sem Rival. I despise cherries and I LOVED the cherries in the cup with the ginginha. If we could book again we would! Book to have a great time through Old Lisbon!
