We meet at the tram stop and I take you to Scandicci. The trip takes few minutes, and then in front of you the hills display in all their charme. We begin to cook immediately, in a relaxed and chatty atmosphere. We make pasta on my beautiful wooden board and set the table. When the weather is favorable, we’ll enjoy the fruits of our labors in the garden as we share a family meal. A garden in the hill, surrounded by olive trees, is not an everyday experience.

Born and raised in Emilia-Romagna, a Mecca for foodies (we invented lasagna, Parmigiano Reggiano, Bologna sauce, Bologna mortadella and other evil foods, real crimes to your attempts to loose weight), I grew up in a family of bon-vivants. My grand-mother and mother grew me as an excellent house-wife, and all food was made from the scratch. I come from a family of teachers, and I love the contact with clients, I enjoy a lot to meet skilled passioned cooks, but also young people who approach the cuisine for almost the first time and begin to make fresh pasta and use a rolling pin, realising it is not such a hard thing, after all.

My brother and I greatly enjoyed learning from Carlotta. Making spaghetti from scratch was the highlight! Carlotta and her husband are wonderful hosts. It was a unique experience that we will remember for a long time.

Una bravissima insegnante in cucina! Ho fatto questa esperienza insieme alla mia ragazza ed abbiamo scoperto insieme che cucinare anche cose apparentemente complicate puó essere veloce e divertente con la giusta guida. Carlotta ci ha aiutato a scegliere il menu (completo) da preparare insieme e durante la lezione ci ha fatto fare tutto "home made", utilizzando anche i classici strumenti per fare gli spaghetti. Alla lezione è seguita la cena insieme con i prodotti cucinati insieme e al momento di salutarci Carlotta ci ha lasciato quello che era avanzato per gustarcelo a casa. Esperienza consigliatissima, soprattutto a chi è curioso di conoscere i piccoli trucchi del mestiere!

My boyfriend and I have decided to learn a bit more skills in cuisine. We enjoyed (and then tasted) so much our sea dish cooking lesson! We made our own “black pasta” with the ink of cuttlefish, than stuffed calamari as a second course and a very special dessert: the crème brulèe! Carlotta is a very capable teacher, she made us cook all this wonderful dishes in just 3 hours! You can find all Carlotta’s recipes in her site and you can choose what to cook with her! After the lesson we had a dinner together tasting our work, also with Carlotta’s husband, Roberto. At the time to say goodbye she gave us our “doggy bag” to enjoy the leftover of our lesson at home. A 360° experience!

We went at Carlotta's place with high expectations and we were really pleased with this experience. I and my girlfriend are good cooks ourselves, and cook everything from the scratch, but we were particularly interested in home- made fresh Pasta. Carlotta taught us a lot of new tricks in order to make things easy even for beginners. At the end of the class we ate the fruits of our labour all together in a very relaxing atmosphere, in her cosy stone house.
