Það sem verður gert
On this 2 hours walking experience, learn about the rich & diverse history of America's most famous or "infamous" street. Together, we'll explore Bourbon street during off peak hours to avoid crowds & distractions.
I'll tell you about the city's most famous cocktails and where they can be found. We'll talk about the origins of Bourbon street starting in the 18th century with the Royal family of France and the changes the street went through with the influx of sailors in WWII and the beginnings of the Gay community.
I'll tell you some sexy & colorful tales about the local burlesque dancers in the 50s & 60s who were also national celebrities and involved with notorious mobsters and politicians. I'll also share some of my own personal family stories & photos from growing up in NOLA and watching the city evolve in the last 30+ years.
Halfway through, we’ll stop for a mid morning treat of the official state doughnut of Louisiana at Cafe Beignet and learn why there's chicory in our coffee.
Before you leave town, you'll be able to tell your friends the difference between Cajun & Creole cuisine, find out what's really in a Hand Grenade and a Hurricane, and learn the proper way to shuck a Gulf Coast Oyster.
Other things to note
Please wear comfortable walking shoes and weather appropriate clothing. All ages are welcome!

5th generation New Orleanian born and bred. I have a degree in History from the University of New Orleans and am attempting to read just about every book ever written about the Crescent City. I tried living in Brooklyn for 7 years, but couldn't resist coming home to NOLA and sharing my love of the city as a tour guide for the past few years.
I've successfully survived over 30 Mardi Gras, one Saints Superbowl, and countless festivals. I currently live in the eclectic neighborhood known as the Bywater and am constantly exploring the city by bike and excited to share both my passion and love of New Orleans with you .

Such a fantastic tour! Incredible knowledge of New Orleans history and Timothy’s passion shines through as a generational local. He’s super warm, outgoing, and approachable. Highly recommend this tour if you want to better understand the outdoor museum that is NOLA!

I am so happy I decided to do this tour! It was my first AIRBNB experience and I was unsure whether they would take me last minute as I booked it the same day, but it was possible.Timothy was knowledgeable and passionate about his city, and funny too! It was just me, so I was asked what I was most interested in, so it’s nice that it can be flexible. I recommend!
