Það sem verður gert

You'll start by learning the importance of dynamic stretches to prepare yourself for different running events, and practice these before the run.

You'll then carry out a warm up and learn why these need to be done before an event.

Next you'll jump right into one of my favourite routes where we'll run along the waggonway from Newburn to Wylam. You'll learn about the area's status as one of the cradle's of the industrial revolution, enjoy the Tynedale countryside and wildlife, all while running a 10km to 12km (6 to 7.5 miles) route at your favoured pace.

At the end of the run you'll learn the critical stretches to minimise the risk of injury. All participants will receive a web link to my stretch card as a reminder for future use.

Finally, all runners can head to a local café/pub for a post run snack and drink. This is where we can chat about the run and discuss personal performance and where improvements can be made.
Other things to note
If you're worried you won't keep up then I assure you we'll run at the pace you want. We can have rest breaks along the way, or not, depending on your training needs. In mixed ability groups there will be catch up points so nobody gets left behind.

We'll run past various locations along the Lemington - Wylam waggonway: the birthplace of George Stephenson, Wylam village, Hagg Bank Bridge, Clara Vale tar fire and Ryton Golf Course, Ryton Willows, Tyne United and Tyne Amateur Rowing Clubs.
