Það sem verður gert

This is possibly my most requested walk by friends, family and work colleagues. Whether in it for the challenge, the experience or simply getting to know the area before your national 3 peaks event, I aim to give you a day to remember with the security of someone who knows the area well.
We'll meet at the carpark near The Wasdale Head Inn, our final destination. Most walks will head straight for the well trodden path to Brown Tongue and on to Lingmell Col. We will head further into the valley head and take the path under Great Gable, taking in the views of Great Hell Gate and Piers Gill. Our path takes us up to one of the best views in the Lakes, Sty Head Tarn and the well visited Mountain Rescue outpost. Carrying on up the fell side on the Corridor Route we reach a small rocky descent leading on to the source or Piers Gill. More photo opportunities await as we look down on to the valley below.
We move on to Lingmell Col and from here ascend the edge towards Scafell Buttress and a line of cairns to the summit of Englands highest mountain.
After a lunch stop, we will descend the path back down to Lingmell Col and make our way up the opposing summit of Lingmell to take a view of our achievement. We then make our way back down to the valley floor via Brown Tongue and on to the home of England Greatest Liar, the Wasdale Head Inn for refreshments.

I cut my teeth 25 years ago as an outdoors instructor for children with learning disabilities based in Kendal. being so close to the Lake District I found myself gravitating there during my time off. I returned to my home town of Newcastle after 4 years, but continued to visit frequently to walk, hike and visit friends. I spend every weekend in this beautiful part of the world and wander the fells with my 2 dogs. I have a great local knowledge of the mountains and a growing a knowledge of the history of my surroundings. I have a great many friends who call Cumbria home, all with a little something to add to my knowledge and experience of where to go, where to eat and what to do. I also entertain in the local pubs on a evening, so once our days are done I can suggest various places to visit. Cumbria and the Fells are my true home.
