Our Azienda Agricola is composed by fields of hazelnut trees, the farm, the bakery and the agritourism.
First of all we'll explain you how we take care of our trees and of the land. Then we'll focus on the hazelnuts, so we'll tell you about the blooming, the maturation and the harvest. Here we'll discuss together about what is the integrated agricolure and why we follow this method.
After this first part we'll pass through the farm and reach the "shelling-room", the place where we keep the nuts and the machines that shell them. Here we'll talk about the shelling-process, Piedmont I.G.P. Hazelnut and its role in the world market.
For the last part of the tour we'll guide you to our bakery. Here we'll explain you how the hazelnut can be used in patisserie and we'll teach you to distinguish high-quality and low-quality products. At this point we'll also discuss about the great theme of food and how the production processes can influence the quality of it.
At the end of the tour we'll serve you the lunch made by us. The lunch includes aperitif, starter,first plate,second plate and tasting of our desserts. We use our hazelnuts and ingredients from the Cascina in every plate!

We like to highlight that with this visit we want to make people more conscious about great themes as artigianal food, integrated agricolure and self-maintenance on the line of Slow Food thoughts

I'm part of the Barroero Family, a the oldest daughter of five. I've been in Cascina Barroero since I was born and now I'm a proud to work here with my parents and sibling. We run our farm to produce Hazelnuts in a ecological and sustainable way and we transform the Hazelnuts in the bakery to make tasty and healty products (cakes, cookies, cremas, ...).
Me, my father and my mother wanted to share with other people our work and our thoughts and a few years ago we started to welcome people in Cascina Barroero. Because we are a family the tours can be made by me, my father (Stefano Barroero) or my mother (Isabella Manzone), depending on the language requested and the needs. Our aim is not just to show you how we take care of the land and how we work in the bakery, but also to make people more consciuos about what we eat and how it is made!

Staðsetning

We'll visit the fields and the farm, you'll come in contact with our animals and in particoular our dogs will follow us all the time. Then we'll move to the bakery, that is next to our house, just 40m from the farm. The tasting and the lunch will take place in our tasting-room, close to the bakery. Here there is an open-kitchen and you will be able to follow the preparation of the meal from your sits.

Camilla was tralla friendly and Receiver ist in the beautiful hazelnut Farm of her Family. She genuinely knows a lot about the hazelnuts and can explain it all really well. The place is lovely and very quite, in the middle of nature. The lunch was really delicious and they also sell fantastic products for a very good price! Would definitely recommend it!

It was very interesting to learn all this about hazelnuts. The lunch was wonderful and something very special, because everything was homemade. I have never eaten such good products of hazelnut!

Camilla è stata molto gentile ed accogliente, ci ha presentato in maniera leggera ma con passione l’attività della sua famiglia. La visita ha incuriosito molto anche i bambini ! Pranzo favoloso e rapporto qualità/prezzo della visita+pranzo eccellente! Consigliatissimo

Esperienza molto interessante e sicuramente non noiosa. Abbiamo fatto un giro nell'azienda, dai noccioleti alla pasticceria. Camilla e la sua famiglia sono stati gentilissimi fin da subito e ci hanno incuriositi con particolari e racconti legati alla loro attivitá. Il pranzo è stato davvero ottimo, tutto a base di nocciole, dagli antipasti al dolce e tutto assolutamente da non perdere. Possibilità di acquistare nocciole, creme, biscotti e torte. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Bellissima la esperienza! Torneremo sicuramente a trovarli :)

Un'esperienza diversa dalle solite. Siamo stati accolti in maniera molto amichevole da Camilla, che ci ha accompagnato tra i campi di noccioli e nella Bakery, spiegandoci passo passo ogni aspetto del mondo delle nocciole, dalla semina ai diversi utilizzi delle nocciole, delle quali non viene scartato niente. È stato tutto interessantissimo, e Camilla ci ha messo un sacco di passione nel raccontare quello che fanno, il tutto accompagnata fedelmente dai due cani di famiglia, docili e dolcissimi. Poi siamo passati al pranzo, dove in ogni portata la protagonista è stata la nocciola, tutto delizioso. Sono disponibili anche opzioni vegetariani che non hanno nua da invidiare agli altri. Torneremo sicuramente con gli amici!

A perfect few hours from start to finish. We got a chance to learn about hazelnut farming on this stunning family- run farm, followed by a tour of the bakery then a delightful lunch. The produce was wonderful and the hospitality second to none. A very memorable day!
