Það sem verður gert

We would begin the class at 10am with coffee and a chat and a general run through of the day ahead.
We will then spend a bit of time talking about the science behind sourdough bread making, how it works compared with conventional methods, the culturing and care of a "starter" and the health benefits of this form of bread making.
We continue the class by literally getting our hands "doughy" and getting stuck into making bread. Two types of bread will be made, one country style sourdough loaf and one conventional yeast sweet bread, like cinnamon rolls.
While these prove, we'll have lunch together and of course this will involve eating freshly baked sourdough bread.
We will resume the class with continuing the process of bread making, adding the filling to the cinnamon rolls and finally cooking the loaves.
Guests will get to take some bread home along with their very own starter.
The class would end at 2.30.

We are passionate bread makers, specifically sourdough and have been really successfully baking it for many many years. Initially, we started because we wanted to make our own bread for health reasons and now over 7 years later, using the same starter culture we began with and lots of practice we can safely say we have mastered making this tricky loaf..
We have hosted informal masterclasses with friends who have wanted to learn and as with out friends we're always happy for anyone to get in touch with us after the class for troubleshooting.
I feel the beauty of this experience would be the fact that we're not chefs and its not a cookery school, it would be in our own kitchen with an oven that everyone would have in their own homes and thats what makes it feel like its achievable, we want people to leave thinking "I can make this at home"

We host a class of up to 4 people, we want everyone to get involved and experience hands on the process of making sourdough, we will not necessarily all be making a loaf each but each student will be hands on for each part of the process and get to bring goodies home.
