Are you interested in learning about the legacy of our Africans ancestor in the Cuban Culture? Are you ready to witness its influence in the daily life of the Cuban people? Then this experience is a MUST for you! First we will share a cup of coffee and get to know each other in the Café Bone´Ma. From there we will travel to the town of Guanabacoa, the cradle of Afro-Cuban culture. Once there we´ll visit the local museum to learn about the history of the 3 main Afro-Cuban religions. Then we will walk through the streets of our town, having a firsthand contact with the Cuban life. Finally we will meet a “Babalawo”--the highest priest of Santeria. He will cleanse us at his altar and explain us about how he looks into people’s future and gives advice based on what he sees. Additionally, we will enjoy typical Afro-Cuban food and we’ll end the day under the shadow of a sacred Ceiba tree listening to emblematic music played by some members of the community, while we taste a cup of Aguardiente, the beverage used in all Afro-Cuban religious practices.
