Það sem verður gert
The walking tour will begin at the mailbox for the Alaska Botanical Garden which is at the beginning of the walkway. Our tour will begin with a brief wildlife safety talk. The tour will next highlight the entry beds and work our way up to the front gate. Once inside the fence and plaza area we will stop to talk about the history of the Alaska Botanical Garden and the long history of dedicated volunteers and staff that helped transform the Alaska Botanical Garden over the last 33 years. We will follow the half mile paved loop around to the several perennial gardens, research plot and outdoor classroom. The tour will end with the newest addition to the Botanical Garden, the greenhouse then we will exit through the retail nursery and gift shop. Please note that the season and weather will ultimately determine the plants that we see. April to mid May can be early for some plants and the gardens might be muddy and or slushy. Peonies are usually in full bloom from mid June to mid July. Mid September might be a little late for some plants. Tours over the winter months are conducted outside and will focus on the history of the Garden. Tours in Spring, Summer and Fall will cover the history of the garden and I will also identify some plants along the way and add some local tidbits. I am not a Master Gardener or Botanist, but I can help identify most plants at the Botanical Garden.
I've been involved with the Alaska Botanical Garden for eight years. Over the course of that time I've done a little bit of everything from greeting visitors to answering the phone to running social media and giving tours! I'm now offering these tours as an experience with the permission of the Alaska Botanical Garden. My education in Environmental Science and passion for plants and people made the Alaska Botanical Garden a good fit for me. I'm still involved with the Alaska Botanical Garden and look forward to connecting more people with one of Anchorage's hidden gems!

Kröfur til gesta
Allt að 8 gestir á öllum aldri geta tekið þátt. Please be aware that the Alaska Botanical Garden is in moose and bear country. I will give a wildlife talk before we begin the tour but bears are occasionally seen in the Garden.
Þú þarft að taka mynd af þér sem passar við myndina á skilríkjunum þínum. Þetta er til þess gert að Airbnb geti staðfest hver tekur í raun þátt í upplifuninni. Þú þarft aðeins að gera þetta einu sinni.
The venue is completely outdoors so please dress for the weather. Limited drink and food options are available so bring anything you may need to be outside for about 1-2 hours. The loop is about a .5 mile paved trail. Several benches are available to stop along the trail.
